Although the website makes it look like a cool small place, the truth of the matter is looks can be deceiving. The owner asked a friend to wait table that night cause he was understaffed. Nice guy but way over his head. Appetizers were not bad, but really slow to come out 1/2 hour. Drinks took forever and were not... More

I always try to write something positive but I just couldn't. We did not even eat! Slow, disorganized and lack of attention.

Food was devine and service was great, the waiter is very personable. We have been eating 3 meals a day in the french quarter for 5 days. This meal was hands down the best. Love the musician too.

We visited with a group of twelve people for dinner arrived on time and the table was ready. It all went down hill from there, after ordering drinks only a partial order arrived, it took over 30 minutes to get the others and they were as simple as a double Makers on the rocks??? The bartender was all over the... More

This restaurant with a limited menu was very underwhelming. They didn't offer anything special other than any other restaurant. Our food was prepared well but not worth the price. And the server looked quite unhappy. Jazz music was a plus that redeemed this restaurant a bit.

The selection is great, atmosphere is cozy, and the food tasty. I could tell from the friendliness of other staff that there were several regulars being served. Our bread was stale and brittle beyond being edible. The salt shakers were smashed in so they didn't work, we had to get our own silverware from another table, and the New York... More

I ordered the blackened Rib steak and it was basically a low grade cut with minimal seasoning. I could have done better on the grill at my house. The music was an old guy that could barely make it. The staff was friendly but I probably wouldn't go back unless I had a free meal.

Horrible! My friends and I went there on a Sunday evening while visiting NOLA. We were walking and looking for a place to have dinner. We looked at the menu at Estrella Steak Lobster & Seafood restaurant, and decided to eat there. I asked the manager, which is better the prime rib or the rib eye? He suggested, very positively,... We visited on the recommendation of a friend. The food did not disappoint. My 12oz ribeye was delicious as was my crab cake starter. The in-house musician was a delight to listen too - he had a touch of Tom Waits about him. It's a shame there were no draught beers but apart from that I would recommend this little... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
