Went for the gumbo ya ya which was pretty darn good but not what I would call amazing. The crab cake, was very good but a tad on the small side. We also had the figs stuffed with cheese which was different and tasty albeit the fact you only got three. Beer selection is light on anything dark. It is interesting... More

The food and service were very good. The atmosphere fit with the style and decor. Fortunately we had reservations, there were many people waiting to get in. I would have to say I believe Mr. B's is a little over rated. Really crowded, a little too noisy for my liking and expensive. We had better meals at different restaurants in... More

Look this was an iconic place we went to , so our expectations were at level 9 , they did not disappoint. As soon as you enter you see and smell class. You could be transposed a century ago. There was a nice easy pace about things here. Stephen was a great hostess who made us feel comfortable in the... More

We always make time to dine at Mr. B's when we are in New Orleans. Beautiful restaurant, great location just off Canal on Royal. Menu includes classic dishes, some with a subtle twist or update. Atmosphere is perfect for date night. Probably not the most family/kid friendly menu. Or if you have young children that like to get up and... More

We were staying at the Hyatt, so Mr B's was only steps away from our hotel. Beautiful atmosphere when we walked in with an open concept kitchen. I would suggest dressing up, no shorts or flip flops. We were craving a salad, so we shared the Iceberg Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese. Very good and fresh. The Duck Spring Roll... More

Recommended by our pediatrician who went to Tulane. We weren't disappointed. Good food, excellent service, definitely worth a try. Although I have to admit with some of the other reviewers, a bit pricey.

The food is amazing! The drinks are great! The staff is always in a good mood. Here's a little secret....On Tuesdays for lunch they serve fried chicken and I must say that it is delightful! Can't wait to have it again!

If you have the opportunity to stop in for Mr. B's Sunday jazz brunch, do it. I split the seafood gumbo with my husband for an appetizer, and ate the chicken pontalba for my entrée. The chicken was perfectly cooked - crispy skin, moist meat - and the potato, prosciutto, onion mixture that accompanied it was delicious. My husband had... More

The bbq shrimp was to great and it was just a cool restaurant. Our steak steak was not very seasoned, but the redfish was very good! We enjoyed it and will definitely go back!

Decided to try this place for a romantic dinner with my wife. Dinner was ruined when they forgot to put our order in. Left saying I'd never go back. Decided to go back with friends and while they didn't forget my order I wish they would have. Entree was well under par compared to the many great establishments in the... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
