...and also the only, but that's really not the point. I'm from SoCal so I've had a lot of Mexican food in my day, and this place is an A+ in my book. For two reason:!awesome vegan options and the salsa. That darn salsa is amazing. It's flavorful and spicy. I poured that ambrosia all over my burrito, which was... More

Came for dinner on a Friday night around 8pm, still quite busy but was seated right away. Great location on Magazine. Very unique decorations and restaurant. Service was ok. We enjoyed the chips and queso. I ordered the Flying enchiladas, which were fantastic. My husband ordered Carne Asada Tacos, which was way overcooked. Parts of our rice were rock hard,... More

Juan's has always been a favorite and one of the places we miss most since moving. Every time we come back to Nola we make sure to eat at Juan's. Cool vibe and amazing food! Hands down best queso anywhere!!

So the burrito was big, and yummy. The guacamole was so-so. The atmosphere is fun and edgy, but my dining partner told me it used to have a whole lot more edge back in the day.

While the menu is rather standard Mexican - tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, etc., it's affordable and done quite well. There is a definite New Orleans stamp on the food as well - imaginative twists on the ingredients. Relatively cheap as well, especially compared to the other over-priced Mexican places in town. While small, I particularly enjoy the bar - a... More

We where here for lunch, and loves it!!! I had the jerk chicken tacos, and my husband pulled pork and spicy coleslaw taco. The chips and guacamole was freshly made.

Just happened upon this place over the weekend. We were "greeted" at the front from the most emotionless person they could find. He led us to our table and were seated. Then out waitress came and she was no different. Asked her a question about the food, and her was "I don't really eat the food here, I'm a vegan"....lol,... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
