Went here to grab a few vegan pastries. I got the vegan cherry chocolate “pop tart” and the samosa. I was more excited about the samosa but actually ended up like the “pop tart” the best!!! I went during the Covid 19 lock down so...their options were more limited on the vegan side. Will def visit again to try more vegan optionsMore

We went here because we have gluten and dairy allergies/sensitivities and my children were very excited when they saw enticing things such as gluten free, vegan donuts on their website, so I drove out to pick up some treats. What a disappointment. They only had...gluten free vegan coffee cakes, the gluten free items were in the same case as gluten items, and the staff didn't even know what items were gluten free and vegan - telling me to look in the case (I was hoping that they actually had the things they were promoting on their website in the back) in a hostile way, and was generally unfriendly. People who have food allergies have to ask questions, my friends! I got 3 coffee cakes, which were ok, and because they overstuffed the bag, and it ripped and spilled all over my large purse, and I am still cleaning out the crumbs- the end of a rather crumby experience. Don't even bother, call Girls Gone Vegan when you get there and order something.More

This bakery has a wide variety of yummy baked goods. They are very vegan friendly, and the breakfast is pretty tasty as well. If you ever need something personalized, or baked to go, Cass will definitely take good care of you.

This small bakery is in Bywater, and was a 10 block walk from our weekend rental house. Everything in the case had been made that morning. We chose a sausage quiche, a blueberry "hand pie', a savory turnover and a coconut chocolate bar, and all...were very good. The coffee was good, although there were few choices in that department.More

We had breakfast here and it was really good. I couldn't take my eyes off the key lime pie so I ordered one even though it was breakfast time. It was probably the best one I ever had. Everything is homemade and even the coffee...is terrific. Don't miss out on the gem of a bakery.More

Most serve poached eggs for breakfast of which I do not like. My eggs have to be totally cooked to eat it, so I ordered the scrambled egg dish. They had a few different ones to choose from. My husband had the spinach / artichoke...one and I chose one that was a tortilla, with beans and salsa. We both ordered the scrambled egg on top and they bake it with cheese on the top. Well, found out that their idea of a scrambled egg was to mix the raw egg, pour on top and put the cheese on and bake long enough for the cheese to melt. When we cut into it, we discovered the runny egg mess underneath. By the time we got done scrapping it off, there wasn't much left to eat underneath although the flavor was good of what we could eat. Avoid ordering egg if you don't want surprises! Mostly I ate the bread and it was good. I guess I should have tried out their bakery goods instead but I wanted something more savory than sweet for breakfast. Food is expensive, but it seems that way all over New Orleans. The plus is that they have outlets there to plug in your iphones and such.More

Shake Sugary has been in Bywater for many years now and consistently offer tasty pastries breakfast items and desserts. Very casual, friendly clientele, and a great no-pressure place for a quick bite. They also have a few tables in front for outdoor seating.

My daughter recommended that we go to Shake Sugary after she got out of work last Thursday. I had a delicious vanilla ice coffee. I am not much of an ice coffee fan, but my eyeballs were sweating and it sounded good. I used the...coffee to wash down their super chocolate chip cookie. I was so impressed that I returned for another visit the next day. I can't get the God's song Sugaree whilst sipping on my coffee. Highly recommend and visit when I travel to NOLA again.More

There's always a good $5 mix drink and we often sit for one while we pick up food. Good pizza. Love the wings. Nice neighborhood spot that isn't as pretentious as some of the Bywater newcomers.

My husband had the sticky bun, he said it was excellent. I had a scone, which was very good. This was convenient for us since we stayed in the Bywater area.
