We were there for over two hours and never received our entrees. The manager Jeff had no excuse except the kitchen is backed up but when we got there there were only 3 tables before us and they never received their entrees either.

This booking was made well in advance as part of our 30th wedding anniversary trip to the Omni Royal, and NOLA. Unfortunately the evening didn’t start well, and tbh didn’t improve. Firstly, when we arrived front of house didn’t seem to be able to find...our reservation. And only after a few minutes were they able to find it. Next our server, after his initial introduction seemed distracted, and busy everywhere else except with us. It required us getting his attention before he came to our table. Our table menu didn’t have the cocktails list included, this then took time for him to locate one of these. Upon ordering my wife’s cocktail, and a bottle of wine for our meal, it then took considerable time for him to track down the manager for the wine cellar key. As the cellar was locked ?? Once we had finally received our wine and cocktails we managed to order our meals. This was were the next disappoint arose. As we were planning on eating at Fogo’s the following night we were both keen to try the lamb. Unfortunately this wasn’t available, but it wasn’t until we tried to order that we were informed of this. It was then over an hour before our starters arrived. At no point prior to this were we offered bread. And it was only after specifically asking if there was bread did we receive any. Both mine, and my wife’s starters were good. It was just a shame the service let it down. When our mains were served, mine being the double cut pork chop, my wife had the half chicken. My wife’s chicken was cold, it was cooked, but internally cold. Needless to say this was not eaten. My chop was very good and was enjoyable. Again though, the service left a lot to be desired. It’s such a pity that the service let down, what should have been a great celebration. We did receive a conciliatory bottle of champagne, and the hospitality manger was extremely apologetic. But based on our experience I’d find it hard to recommend.. KarlMore
The entrees were really tasty and the staff catered well to my partner, who is coeliac. A nice cool and calm retreat from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter!
I had great expectations for this restaurant and its prime rib. Service was spotty, and at times we were ignored by the servers despite having an empty restaurant on a Sunday night. At times we felt uncomfortable with the servers' attitude. As to the food,...some was good and some not so good. The French onion soup was great but the Caesar's salad was not to par with the restaurant's reputation. And the meat was just OK, with too much fact on some cuts. The lamb chops were greasy and almost inedible. I think this restaurant needs significant improvements to gain my approval.More
The American breakfast was $15 and the coffee was $5 even though the paper menu and the menu still online indicate a $4 coffee. Obviously if I splurged (for me) on a $20 breakfast, plus tax and tip, I can afford an occasional splurge, unlike...those people huddled under a blanket on Chartres Street that morning. The breakfast was tasty with an over-ample portion of scrambled eggs (especially when retail eggs are $8 a dozen) and over-ample portions of potato, which were tasty but I was not offered the fresh fruit alternative. The scramble eggs had excellent taste, but there was a distraction in that I thought I was crunching on eggshells when I was probably biting into tiny whole peppercorns . Service was very good, and my coffee was refilled three times. However, I was often the only diner. China and napery were the same quality as for an evening meal. The room was spacious and gracious, with tall ceilings and rail station lamps indicating various parishes and towns in Louisiana. Compared to shivering on the sidewalk, this experience was a delightful splurge.More
Staying at the Omni. Made reservations. Nice window seats available, but we we offered a small table for two on a wall. Asked for another table. Sat across the room against another wall. We are early so no excuse. Appetizer served , but no plates....We asked for steaks cooked medium with a heavy sear, Pittsburg style. We watched as our steak and sides were placed on a warmer in our view as we were eating our appetizer. Sides were in the warmer for approx. 30 minutes. Our steaks for 15 minutes. This was happening to all of the customers. We spoke to a gentleman we later learned was the Head Chef, after we had asked for the Manager. We asked for the food to be prepared again and served fresh. We then received steaks that looked like they had just been taken out of the fridge, warmed up and served. We advised the waitress that we were done and asked for the Manager again. We were then introduced to Laurence, who was likely the WORST restaurant Manager I've ever spoken to, particularly in a high end, expensive restaurant. He did not care at all. He said he would take the steaks off. Much to our surprise, after advising him of our experience, we were still charged for the remainder of the meal which I felt should have been comped due to our poor experience. I've never seen such apathy from a crew in my life. The Head Chef came back to our table grinning, which is not something that you want to see after reporting a bad experience. When we told him that the steaks looked like they were barely placed on the grill, he seemed surprised. One would have thought that with an issue, he would have followed the meal through the process. We stay at the Omni every time we come here, but I'll never eat here again.More
Not a hello or acknowledgment from the female bartender. When I commented that the server never turned around either a young man returning to the bar addresses very friendly and takes our order. Still kor saying hello or anything she spins around and places a...bill on the bar in front of us before we even received anything. A guy walks up and she takes his order then places it in-front of him without first giving him a bill. Hmmmm so we left her exact change for the bill and left with our drinks.More
We absolutely loved the bar and restaurant at The Rib Room. So nice to have a lovely dinner with absolutely wonderful food. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars was due to some of the prices. But it was delicious!
Ordered the prime rib po’boy on the bar menu. Probably the best sandwich I’ve ever tasted. Great food and great service.
Booked a table here after looking for a good steak place in New Orleans. The food was delicious, the waiter recommended we try the turtle soup as a starter. We’d never tried turtle before and were curious, it’s safe to say we both enjoyed it...very much. The steak was cooked perfectly and the oreo cheesecake was very tasty. The staff were friendly and very helpful.More
We had both a lunch and a breakfast here during the week we stayed at the Omni. The food was good and the service was great. We never had to wait for a table which was a big plus!
Prime rib was the best, service was slow but this is the Big Easy, prices good, wish I new how they got the prime rib so good.
Sunday brunch here gets you two well cooked meals and bottomless mimosa’s for under $60 along with a great band, loads of atmosphere in great surroundings.
One word CLASS. A special restaurant if you want to splurge. Service on top of their game. The food quality unsurpassed. Must make reservations. Not a kid's place.
A place of this calibre should do so much better. Service was slow and inattentive. Took an hour to get our dinner salads. Both salad and entree had tobe returned fir correction. Prime rib was well prepared.
