During the month of August over 80 restaurants offer a Coolinary menu and I selected to try the one at the Grill Room for I had not been back there in over a year and a half. I was so excited to have tried their menu (which is reduced in price but not in serving sizes). The food was fresh... More

The Windsor Court hotel is not the first place I think of when I look for a restaurant. The WC is across from the casino. The Grill Room is is on the second floor. They have a daily lunch special for $19.84. One gets a choice of an entree, fish (grouper on the day I went), chicken breast, crab cake... More

We stayed at the Windsor Court Hotel and decided to try the Grill Room since it was convenient and seemed to be highly rated by others. We thought the food was good but nothing special and the prices were like the ones we see back home in New York without the same level of quality. We were also annoyed to... More

service was mediocre. Food was blah. Waitstaff stood near kitchen door and pretty much ignored customers except to take your order and bring out the food. Noticed people scratching heads, picking up dirty dishes and glassware, never washing hands, and similar issues. YUCK!

The chef prepared all of our meals to perfections with a definite southern charm. There was a bit of crab meat in my tomato soup and caviar sprinkled on my poached lobster.

A group of friends decided to try the "Meat and Three" lunch deal for $19.84. The ambiance was delightful. The servers were polite and attentive. I had the grilled fish. It was cooked well, but it needed a little spice in the flavor. The roasted sweet potatoes were delicious! The grilled asparagus were a little tough. The three sorbet flavors... More

The dining room in the Windsor Court hotel is a fabulous dining experience for both the food and the opulent decor. The main dining room has a beautiful mural of Jackson Square. The furnishings , art work , tableware and silver are elegant , old New Orleans. I ate there for lunch recently on several occasions and the food has... More

We had breakfast and dinner at the Grill Room after staying at the Windsor Court. The menu was somewhat limited but what we had was excellent. The prices were pretty but it fits with the hotel and surroundings.

Went here with a group of 16 for a celebration. The service was fantastic! I'm not much on this kind of menu but the food was ok. I didn't care for the veggies that came with my fish so I ordered a side of roast cauliflower & was wonderful!! Also the strawberry ice cream at the end was to die... More

This is supposed to be a fancy hotel restaurant. My son and husband both wore jackets to dinner. There were people in sweats and shorts etc, which kind of ruins it for me. Our waiter was incredibly unfriendly and detached. The food here was not good. My son and I both ordered the duck and it was rare ! I... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
