Our group ducked in just in time to avoid a rainstorm. We weren't planning on eating here, but there is a very understated food counter at the back, featuring a full menu of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and related fare. We tried a sampling, and it was all good, freshly-made comfort food for a reasonable price. The bartenders in the front... More

This place is great! No cover, friendly staff and the music was incredible. They also serve yummy Mexican and pizza. I had two pork Taco's. They we're delicious, especially with the green hot sauce.

GO FOR THE LIVE MUSIC. Visited Café Negril a couple nights during our trip to NOLA a few weeks ago. We planned on going to d.b.a. the second night, but went back to Café Negril instead. The music was better, there was no cover, and they also had very reasonably-priced food. We had a blast. Not a lot of seating,... More

I have often come here for late night food on Frenchman Street and have never been disappointed. Food is decent price and is served quick. Plus, there is always a great band playing while you wait and eat. Tacos are great, and love that you can get them on corn tortillas on request. Makes all the difference. Also, one of... More

Bartender kept moving chairs and refused to let customers take chair from one table to another or move them to or from bar. This was extremely odd and even more ridiculous. Made an elderly couple move the third chair we'd given them from our table back to the table where it remained empty. Band was great, food was good, though... More

A small group of us came here primarily to listen to the music. We were not disappointed. The stage has a wonderful backdrop and the small place lets you be right up in front of the action. The first band we heard, Jamie St Pierre and the Honeycreepers, were amazing. I'd come back here just to hear these guys. We... More

Cafe Negril is a small cafe/bar on Frenchman Street. It is an easy walk from the French Quarter for most people. I haven't eaten there during the day when it is more of an actual cafe, but have been there at night when Frenchman street is happenin. The Good: as a bar, this place has the best acts playing there.... More

We spent quite a long time hanging here and listening to the live music. Drinks were good, atmosphere was a lot of fun, and the crowd really got into it! Definitely worth a stop!
