We have been to Ali BA BA's on many occasions and have never been disappointed. The gyro is always seasoned to perfection and the fries are always hot out the grease. Whenever we are undecided about a place to grab a quick bit Ali BA BA's always comes through. A must taste! Best gyro in The Quarter!

Just looking for a quick bite to eat after a few hurricanes. This was the only place on Bourbon with good clean healthy food at a decent price for a quick bite. The gyros are filled with meat, the staff are friendly, and the prices are incredibly fare. We went back for lunch the next day.

We stopped in here almost every night - after a good night of drinking. And lunch one day. The gyros are fast, delicious and cheap. A must stop any time while on Bourbon.

I met this place hungry at my first night in New Orleans, and I had to eat at least 2 Shawarmas (or Gyros). They're perfect! Since then, I always come back in every visit to get fresh vegetables, good meat, and everything done with much quality and an amazing mediterranean tahini sauce. The original owner was a boxer and he... More

Remember that place of your youth you went to after drinking all night? The memory of that diner, that dive, that burger joint... No other place would satisfy the same way as that place. That's what Ali ba bas does for me. The best gyros ever. And I'll usually get two only because I know it's gonna be awhile till... More

Good grub and quick - they have been there for as long as I can remember (20 years?) It looks kind of shabby, but the man behind the counter is always ready to make something up quickly.

I love Gyros. I chose Greece for my honeymoon primarily to eat Gyros. Yesterday while strolling through the Quarter I stopped at Ali BaBa for Gyro. Without question one of the top Gyros - lettuce was green and crisp; tomatoes were red, moist and crisp; perfect amount of Tzatziki. I live in Uptown but will make it a point to... More

Seated right next door to Pat O'Briens, this is the perfect pit stop to grab a gnosh before going to stand in line at O'Briens for your stupid tourist hurricane glass.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
