We had a few hours to kill between cruises and decided to walk to the Ernst! Great decision. Friendly, fast, and cold beer! Perfect.

Stopped in on the night of September 10, 2023. It was well-staffed with a few customers inside and about five tables outside. Despite being well-staffed, service was literally non-existent - we waited for 20 minutes and no one came. Empty tables were filthy. And finally,...why I’m 2023 would you have floor tiles with multiple swastikas in the design? Will never return, but based on the ‘decor’, that’s probably the owners intent.More

Terrible service. Swastikas on the floor. Sat for 20 minutes before anyone even looked at us. The food was alright.

Food was ok but nothing special. Service was slow and the entire place is a bit dodgy. Don’t want to look too close to the cleanliness and strongly suggest not to visit the kitchen. Better passed by if you have other opportunities.

This is a Hot spot. Locals and tourists love it. Casual, great food, nothing fancy, sit inside or out at picnic tables, friendly staff. Easy.

Fantastic place for lunch, fresh food and great atmosphere. The po boy bread is delicious and I highly recommend the crab cakes and grilled shrimp. Service is great and the prices are stupendous.

Food was okay and the service was below average. I rate good places by would I want to go back if in the area and this is not a place I would go back. I got the Cajun Nachos and they were really good. I...also got gumbo and it was average not bad just okay. My wife got the cheese sticks and she said they were good. I ordered a smaller portion of the gumbo and they charged me for a larger portion. We split the bill and didn't realize the mistake until we got back to hotel when we saw the picture of the bill from a friend. I went inside to ask for a to go box and a server said to give him a second. He made several trips back and forth right by me and didn't get it or acknowledge me.More

This place is a hidden secret in New Orleans. The food was amazing. The beer was cheap. The service was outstanding. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting good food or cheap drinks. I will definitely go back the next time I’m in...New Orleans. Glad we found it and ate here. Just wish we would have went more and found it before our last day on vacation.More

We went here a few times as it was just around the corner from our hotel. The food is ok, nothing special but if you want a beer and something to eat you can't go wrong. The beer menu is decent and so are the...prices. Outside seating is available and you just sit yourself down and the staff come and supply everything you need. We would happily returnMore

Gumbo was great! Fries awesome! They need a new bloody Mary mix though, fresher bread and then were out of tea which was odd. If you're looking to drink on the cheap, this is def the place to go. Domestics were $1.25!! 😱 Also had...video poker which was fun👍More

We sort of stumbled upon Ernst Cafe as we were hungry and desperate because things were mostly closed. We ended up coming back two more times during our trip. Cheap beer, plentiful and tasty food. Friendly service. What's not to love? Oh, BTW, do get...the roast beef po' boy. I guess I was expecting sliced roast beef, like a deli, but it was freakin' POT ROAST. Interesting spice profile. Cumin maybe? Delicious, whatever. Eat it!More
