Easter Sunday night and hungry, we walked into the quarter cause we were staying nearby, Felix's and Acme were closed. Maspero's was open. I ordered the crawfish etoufee my date ordered the pisterlerros. Fifeteen minutes later the waitress comes and tells us they are out...of the pisterlerros. French onion soup is ordered. The meal arrives and the plate just out of the washer, is hotter then the etoufee. The onion soup tastes the same as everywhere else that opens an industrial can. I'm walking down Chartres complaining to my date about being robbed without a gun for forty five dollars at Maspero's clip joint. A waiter grabbing a smoke in a doorway hears me and says, "Welcome to New Orleans."More
