Check out the menu before you go. I did but still did not have a pleasant meal. We travel for regional food and music. I thought a Jazz brunch would be perfect. I had the Etouffee Omlette. It was extremely rich. It appeared the "etouffee" was just butter. I hated to leave a $16 plate, so ate it. Bad decision... More

We returned to Atchafalaya four and a half years after our initial visit there. We had dinner and were impressed with the large number of specials which were added to the regular menu. The overly-attentive busser had to be called off from relentlessly filling our water glasses, and although the waitress was very friendly I had to prompt her to... More

Very good food in a quant atmosphere. The restaurant is a converted cottage/house out of the beaten path near the Garden District. The food and service are top notch. Don't miss the butternut squash soup if available! We also had very tasty wild boar and crawfish meatballs.

This place embraces everything I love and respect in a restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and the location is charming as well. An area I hadn't been to while visiting NOLA but can't wait to go again. The best brunch! Everyone around us looked pleasantly happy as well. It was a Monday and glad we made a reservation... More

We arrived early at 6:05pm. We were the only 2 in the bar with 2 bartenders who were not helpful and acted like we were bothering them. The owner was also upfront in the small bar area and did not speak to us. My salad was great. My entree was not. We ate at Brennan's the night before. Perhaps we... More

This is a fun property with an excellent waitstaff and even better food. Definitely make reservations if you want to come for brunch on the weekend. The Bloody Mary bar is quite original - I've never had a green tomato juice option before & I don't want to go back! The signature dish of Eggs Atchafalaya was excellent - perfectly... More

You have to sit at the bar to watch the bartenders in action. I swear every cocktail had at least five ingredients and numerous steps. Everything we tasted was excellent but go early, they fill up fast !!!

The Bloody Mary's were so good!! We had runch here; the food is great. A bit pricey, no bread offered, but the food we had was excellent. Just a really cute, fun place !! Our waitress Lyndsey was nice, but seemed preoccupied a bit.

Went for a birthday and loved it. In the middle of a neighborhood, this place is a gem. Really inviting with a lot of character. We ate outside and it was great. Great menu and top notch service. Looking for a place for a couple to have a somewhat romantic, somewhat cozy, quiet dinner to enjoy each other's company -... More

What a wonderful off the beaten tourist trap path place. Wonderful food, great wine list, friendly but professional service. The six of us had a great night. Highly recommended.

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
