Antoine's has been on my restaurant bucket list forever. We visited last Friday and were not disappointed. The dining room is elegantly appointed. Service was impeccable. Chuck, our waiter, provided many excellent suggestions and made us feel like we were part of the family. Austen, the assistant waiter, was extremely attentive and friendly. I had their shrimp remoulade for starter... More

There are not enough words to describe the warm and wonderful reception we were given by the staff at Antoine's for my mom's 70th birthday jazz brunch. Our amazing, warm, kind, incredible head waiter, Charles, and assistant servers Thomas and Baldwin, created an experience for our mother that brought her to tears. In addition to a historic private room (Rex... More

Antoine's is truly a fine dining experience. The place is huge, multiple large dining rooms and smaller dining lounge. Despite the size, the dining experience feels personal and intimate. The wait staff are excellent. The dinner is a multicourse event, meant to be savored, not rushed. Wait staff are knowledgable and helpful and frequently remind patrons to take their time... More

I read reviews about Antoine's before we arrived in NO, so I knew it would be a good place to eat, and we hoped to have time for a meal. We left our agenda pretty much wide-open, but decided to stop in for lunch one afternoon. Great idea! The food was great, good prices, good atmosphere, and lots of history.... More

This restaurant is worth the sinful splurge. The menu is extensive and interesting with a wine list that is book length! We ordered the chateaubriand for two and weren't disappointed, plus the portion was more than we could finish. For dessert, I recommend the bread pudding. After dinner, you can embark on a self guided tour of the restaurant which... More

Lovely place (dirty bathrooms), food felt very industrial. Cold overpriced. Used chipped cracked glassware. Actually asked us to stand up so they could mop the floor in the middle of dinner because of a dripping ice bucket. Riding on past reputation. Doesn't hold true now.

Private room for a business dinner - about 20 of us. The balcony was nice pre-dinner and the room was gorgeous and spacious. Food options were filet, chicken or fish. Those who ordered the chicken were happy. I had the filet - it was over done. It arrived with a lot of gravy, which was tasty. Asparagus was passed -... More

Our servers had both been working there well over 20 years. They helped us order delightful food and graciously pointed out the $.25 Martinis. They were so much fun, the food was perfect, and the age of the place gives it a great, timeless feel.

This is the dining experience to say the least. You must try the cafe diablo. I always enjoy eating here.

If you like French cooking, you'll love this place. One of the famous landmark restaurants in N O and deserving of it.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
