We enjoyed Sunday jazz brunch at Antoine's with the waiter going out of his way to make our visit enjoyable, even finding a way to satisfy our request for their baked Alaska, even though the person who usually created it was reportedly off when we dined. Everything we had was great but the service really made the visit special.

Not a real fan of Oyster Rockefeller, but the crawfish bisque is fantastic. We also loved the lamb. Couldn't ask for better food! Save room for the baked Alaska,

I went there on Saturday evening for dinner with my husband. We had a lunch in great restaurant Palmettos On The Bayou so we expected at least the same quality in the restaurant where prices doubled. And... what the surprise!!! First of all, the service was terrible! There were many waiters on the floor but nobody came to us to... More

This place is legendary and for good reasons! Been around since 1840 and owned by original family. The food is excellent and so is the service. Sterling Armour was our service and he was outstanding. I've been here several times and I've never been disappointed.

My first Louisiana dinner, and it was a fantastic experience. Food was delicious and the historic building is a wonderful setting. The menu has a huge variety of local fare to select from.

A host greets you with a warm welcome and the first thing that captures your eye are the wait staff in tuxedos, bow ties with a white napkin over their arm. The 175 year old restaurant that has served Ulysses S. Grant and Andrew Jackson does not disappoint. The menu is regional classic. I could not decide on which oyster... More

I was so excited to eat here, especially after hearing so much about it! We were seated right away, but our food didn't come until an hour and fifteen minutes after ordering!! Our drinks took 30 minutes to come as well! Food is overpriced, and not as "amazing" as I had hoped. Would definitely not come back, or recommend to... More

The food here was excellent. Get a sampler of the oysters because they are all great. And try to get the signature items especially the Baked Alaska. Basically anything that they put on their menu is going to be great. It certainly isn't cheap but it is one of the most historically significant single locations for food innovation.

This place is home to excellent French culinary specialties! The soft-shell crab is exquisite! The fresh fish offerings are also delicious! Try the absinthe-hinted Sazerac a New Orleans original cocktail. Finish off with a dessert of meringue with chocolate fudge. BTW this is the birthplace of THE OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER! It's fabulous here!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
