This is a lovely restaurant with a rich history and very knowledgeable staff. Service is fast paced and we were served quickly by a very nice team. Our dinner wasn't anything to write home about but the historical experience made it a very worthwhile visit. I would love to return with a group of friends and book one of the... More

Reserved table and was seated at 1 pm w lovely fanfare but no menu. Our order was the lunch special and it was taken by 1:10. Then time stopped. By 2 pm still no meal. Bread arrived at 1:30 an it became meal. Bummer as the bread is nothing special. Eventually we asked for food, they brought a soup we... More

Even though I grew up in New Orleans, I have only been to Antoine's one time, about twenty years ago. This was an unplanned visit as we happened to be passing by the restaurant and decided to go last minute. The dining room had a lot of history and ambiance. The service was great. My husband and I had the... More

I took one of my most important clients and a few of his staff to dinner on a Friday night. They enjoyed eating at one of New Orleans most famous restaurants. We ordered the "Oyster Rockefeller" for the table, since this is where it was first created. We're from Seattle and know what fresh Oyster's taste like, unfortunately, these were... More

We went to Antoine's for lunch where we go about 3 times a year because you can usually count on good food. Today, the drum was excellent, but the lemon cake was absolutely awful. It was dry and tasted as though it had been around for a while. I made a comment to the waitress who said she would convey... More

For me, a meal at Antoine's is the best of the best. I believe that they are the oldest restaurant in New Orleans and they certainly know how to present food and service in the city's rich tradition (which is not nearly as stuffy as you might imagine). I asked for Crabmeat Maison, their freshest fish to be sauteed, and... More

We had the 3 course prix fixe Reataurant Week menu - all dishes were delicious. We especially liked the grilled oysters appetizer - it was amazing! The 25 cent cocktails were a nice treat. We really enjoyed seeing the displays of the historic Mardi Gras memorabilia and the huge wine cellar.

My friend told me he had the most amazing meal at Antoine's and recommended that I go, which I did, but I went for lunch instead of dinner and I had their great lunch special (3 course meal with 25 cent martinis, max of 3). Against my better judgment, I got the baked oysters and barrel fish/spinach for the entree.... More

Myself & 5 friends flew into New Orleans on Thursday. We had reservations, in which we made 2 weeks in advance, for Thursday evening, at 7:30. All of us are very busy working mothers and we were looking forward to sitting down for a nice meal to catch up. Upon arriving, the host acted like we were inconveniencing him In... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
