We enjoyed a fabulous dinner for two in this relatively small restaurant. Several unique drinks on their menu: the Lilette was my choice and it was perfection. The menu had so many delicious options it was difficult to choose. We ordered several appetizers which we shared. Entrees were too delicious to share! Every bite was amazing! We love the Magazine... I am going to attempt to give this review in a way to best demonstrate the mood, the vibe and the outlook for an elegant lunch Uptown in New Orleans. Lilette is an unassuming, yet posh restaurant sitting on a quiet corner on Magazine street. Not that large, and old turn of the last century storefront, the interior painted deep... More

Overall, we had a great dinner and experience at this restaurant in early July. The dreamy setting, combined with delicious cuisine, made for a great evening. We wish this review could be 4 1/2 stars, however. Points taken off primarily for the sort of snotty waitress we interacted with. But, as someone noted in a prior review, it seems to... More

I turned up at Lilette at the tail end of lunch and had one of the best meals of a restaurant-heavy trip to NOLA. Delicious Italian wedding soup, avocado salad followed by a roast chicken entree. Only sorry I have no room for dessert. Lovely room, excellent service.

I often have misgivings that people believe food tastes better because it costs more. Otherwise, you have to admit you were a fool paying so much for so little, whether it be portions or taste. $74 later, we (2) left the restaurant hungry and fortunately found a great little sports bar that served some delicious $10 nachos. Sigh. So how... More

Lilette is one of the best authentic French restaurants in the New Orleans area. I would recommend visiting Lilette if you are looking for true French cuisine. It is not the traditional New Orleans style food for first timers in the big easy.

We arrived and our table was ready. Nice atmosphere. Very simple and nice. Wine selection was great. Pricey but nice. We had the sweetbreads for an appetizer and I had the spiced drum . Sweetbreads were very tiny and flavor was ok... Not a whole lot to them. The fish and the sauce were fantastic. The dessert was out of... More

The food is outstanding and the wine list is impressive. The staff was a little snobbish but we were under dressed. I had the Hanger steak and it was surprisingly good. They were very busy (Jazz Fest weekend) even at 10pm. The restaurant is loud so don't expect quiet romance.

Lilette is one of those small and exquisite restaurants we local aficionados of fine foods and wines treasure. The menu presents a consistent selection of favorites as well as daily specials, and I enjoy usually a mix of both, the expected and the unexpected. The service is great and the staff attractive.

I think I have written once before about this place and have been there with friends, who have read the tripadvisor's reviews...and each time I have been there it never impressed me. Maybe I need more to be impressed! Impressed I was with the restaurants in Denver and Santa Fe. At the bar I ordered a glass of dark red... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
