Came here for a late lunch and decided to order the signature dishes (gumbo and fried chicken). Food was good (not amazing) but service was so bad and fairly unpleasant (except for the bus boy)!!!!!! I would definitely recommend avoiding this place (sorry, Leah Chase)!

I’d read glowing reviews of this place, so we tried it out as a candidate for our we’d party. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The food was good enough. Not great, but good. The service was really friendly, but not overly prompt or attentive - seemed...More

I soooo wanted to like this landmark. My high hopes were dashed by both the limpid salad, super sweet cocktail, and drab food choices. My stuffed shrimp were just okay. I am so delighted to have seen the artwork and photos of President Obama eating...More

This was our first time to Dooky Chase. My companion got the buffet and he wasn’t disappointed. The food was well prepared and he enjoyed everything he selected. I’m a vegetarian and they prepared a wonderful veggie sandwich for me. The coffee was excellent. But...More

This restaurant has been around for a while and deservedly so. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had the buffet lunch. Unfortunately, the buffet area was extremely messy and sloppy looking which isn’t the most appealing. Fortunately, the food was quite good. I...More

There is a lot of parking in the area. Walking while it's light is fine that said, I would think twice about walking at night.
