The original Brennan's, opened in 1946, recently emerged from an extensive renovation that spared no effort or expense by new co-owners Terry White and Ralph Brennan. Eight glamorous dining rooms, each steeped in New Orleans architecture and ambiance, celebrate the opulence of dining in a city where breakfast revelry is taken as seriously as a decadent dinner. Brennan's menus are rooted in Creole traditions and are bolstered with contemporary New Orleans influences. Marrying classic and modern techniques yields a decidedly innovative approach and enhances our local, seasonal offerings. Brennan's old-world elegance, fanciful decor and pampering service create a unique and sophisticated backdrop

Guests wearing shorts, sneakers, baseball caps inside.....what happened to the dress code? People dressed like they are at IHOP! Just the way we wanted to spend our 50th anniversary. I was the only man wearing a jacket and my wife was one of only 2...ladies wearing a dress. They were always a classy place but no more. They caved in to the younger crowd. Galatoires didn’t relent to sloppy dress and it hasn’t hurt it a bit. Jackets required. This has always been a “must” meal for us when we visit NOLA but no more. You guys have lost one of the two things that separated Brennan’s from most; well dressed patrons and great food. The food is still excellent. Sad.More

From the moment my husband and I walked in we were greeted with smiles and professionalism. This place is absolutely adorable and perfect for breakfast/brunch! My husband had the steak and eggs which was beautifully plated and the steak was perfectly seasoned and tender. I...ordered the Brioche French toast the bourbon soaked peaches were a delicious touch to the dish! I also got the thick cut bacon and they were a perfect salty companion to the sweetness. We also decided on the table side made World Famous Bananas Foster. Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day and this place is a perfect choice to have the best meal of the day! Thank you Jamie for the great service we appreciate you :)More

Well run restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter. Excellent brunch with bloody marys. They use great ingredients. Good service. I'll be back!

This place is fun, fancy and wonderful--it might be the restaurant highlight for many people who visit NOLA. PInk is the color at Brennan's: for starters you will see guys in pink shoes and wearing pink face masks. The place is decorated wonderfully with good...taste, colors, designs, posters, sculptures, etc. They practice social distancing, and the service is great. Staff is professional and friendly, and the place makes everyone feel like a star. And of course the food is excellent! The egg dishes are all wonderful as is the spinach that they prepare in many ways. They invented bananas Foster here. It is a fun place to go. Sure, it's very expensive but it's the best of the expensive restaurants in town. So if you decide to go to one expensive place, this is it.More

A Better October Breakfast We were back in New Orleans in October, for a small, family event. While we spent most of the time with the family, we wanted to go to Brennan’s for one breakfast, so drove to the French Quarter, parked the rental...car near the river, and walked over to Royal St. Our reservation was early, so that we would have time, before doing family things. On our previous visit to Brennan’s for brunch, the service and wine service were not what we have come to expect - not bad, but not even close to the standards set by Brennan’s, and especially after Ralph Brennan took it over from other family members. We had a nice table, in the main dining room, and had the menus in hand quickly. Though it was early, I also was looking over their wine list. For our Starters, we went with: The Turtle Soup w/ brown butter, spinach, grated egg and aged Sherry. This was, as always, fantastic. The Brennan’s version of this venerable New Orleans soup, is one of the best, that we have had, and we have done Turtle Soup all over New Orleans. Brennan’s did not let us down here. Seafood Filé Gumbo w/ shrimp, andouille sausage and oysters over basmati rice. This was an excellent Gumbo, with a dark roux, and filled with great seafood and smoky sausage. Now, I did have to pick out all of the oysters, before passing this dish to my wife (bi-valve allergy), but that meant all were for me. Again, a great starter. For our Main Courses, we ordered: Eggs Benedict w/ house-made English muffins, coffee-cured Canadian Bacon and Hollandaise Sauce. This was one of the best Eggs Benedict that I have had, and I enjoy this dish often. The Hollandaise Sauce was probably pressurized in a whipped-cream dispenser, as light and fluffy as it was. The Sauce had a lovely tanginess, and the English muffins were perfect, as was the Canadian Bacon, and the coffee curing added a wonderful element. One of the best ever, and a dish which I think defines Brennan’s, and I have always placed their version at the top of my list. Crispy Chicken & Waffles w/ buttermilk-brined chicken, cracklins’ cornbread waffle, foie gras butter and maple syrup. The chicken was great, both sweet and moist, with a perfect crispy skin, though my wife thought that it was slightly overdone. The Waffle is just not at the top of my list, but the Chicken was great. My wife loved both this meal. We left, very pleased, and still had time for the various family events. We hope to return in May, for our next visit.More

This place lives up to the hype! Deborah the bartender at JW Marriott recommended brunch at Brennan’s on our last day in NOLA and it did not disappoint. We had short wait and were promptly seated within 5 mins of our reservation time. I had...the crab and avocado toast and my husband had seafood gumbo and oyster appetizer, all great selections and delicious. The Bananas Foster presentation was the highlight. Great service and dining reservation. Brennan’s is a must for our next visit!More
