We go here almost every time we travel to New Orleans. We know we are gonna have a great meal for a reasonable price. Good variety of local favorites and good portions. Several dishes the are a little different then some of the other locals places. Try the frenchaletta, a mufalotta on French bread.

I was in NOLA for business alone and was staying locally. I found Liuzza's on Tripadvisor, it was just a short walk from my place. I entered and was welcomed pleasantly and shown to a table - I don't know whether it was the fact I was alone or had an English accent that everyone starred but being full of... More

We always start with the fried onion rings and order beer in a frozen glass. One of the most interesting & delicious meals we have had is the Seafood Napoleon appetizer. Many flavors on one plate. Really good liver and onions.

I have lived most of my life in New Orleans and although I have heard of Liuzza's I have never been till last weekend. Beer is ICE COLD as it should be. I tried the FRENCHULETTA which is a Liuzza's original and it was AWESOME. Bread was fresh and crispy. Sandwich is served warm...de-lish! My wife got the Eggplant Parmesan... More

A friend from New Orleans recommended Liuzza's and we loved it! Fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade, cream of artichoke and shrimp soup, salads, lasagna and the veal parmesan. Everything was outstanding. Gonna need a nap!

We had the roast pork po boy and the shrimp po boy and gumbo. While all were good, the roast pork po boy was the best. The gumbo was a great appetizer. Good but not great. And the shrimp for the po boy would go best on a soft bed of rice or grits. It was way too saucy for... More

Great laid back joint, gumbo and a "Frenchulleta" food doesn't get any better, you can pay more, you can get fancier for dinner, but this place always seems to hit the spot. Try the frozen Daiquiri for a desert.

Recommended by friends that we must visit when in NOLA! They were right...this place was good! We had the Frenchuletta, very good, Shrimp and oysters with jambalaya, good and the grilled pork chop with red beans and rice another winner. The place was hoppin'. The fried green tomatos were yummy! The Bushwacker drink was awesome to say the least! The... More

If you're visiting New Orleans and are looking to try an authentic neighborhood place, then Liuzza's should be on your list. Located in the heart of Mid-City, it's small, unpretentious, and filled with locals who have been enjoying the food here for decades. The menu covers all the New Orleans basics. Po-boys are a staple for natives, and those served... More

This is a locals place. When you go in you see people who live in New Orleans. They have a variety of seafood and home cooked dishes at very reasonable prices. The specialty is the mufalotta on porboy French bread and it is great. The fried tomatoes are very good also.
