This is a restaurant favored by locals. I ordered the crab salad to start and was very disappointed. It was lump crab drowned in a 1,000 island type dressing. You couldn't taste the crab at all. It was 18 bucks, so I felt like I had to eat it or waste my money. My friend ordered scallops to start and... More

My first time eating at Clancy's and to be quite honest, I was not impressed. The atmosphere was OK even though we were seated upstairs under an ac vent; it was a bit cold. My dinner was smoked duck and I found it salty and tough. I expected better. Others in my party enjoyed their meals, so maybe just an... More

Ate lunch at the bar. It is a great way to watch how a restaurant runs. The attention to detail was amazing. All the employees seemed very proficient and friendly. I loved watching the chef come out and talk to people. The food was perfect. I loved the homemade ice cream for dessert. Very special.

One of the best places in town. Packed every night of the week, because it's so good. Call ahead for reservation. We had the crab salad, superb. The Gnocchi with crab & mushroom was delectable. However, the saute' veal was only okay, I won't get it next time. Great steak.

Old New Orleans style. Had a great time and had some fantastic food. The fried oysters with brie should not be missed.

This restaurant was recommended to us by locals and we are so glad we tried it. The Lobster and Mushroom Risotto was among the best meals I've had in my entire life. The half-size meal portion was plenty! This restaurant was a bit costly for us ($30-40 entrees; $15 apps and salads) but the quality and presentation of the food... More

Clancy's is my favorite uptown restaurant, and my last visit reaffirmed this. The menu offers a nice variety of fresh seafood, and the specials are always a nice way to enjoy something different. It's also nice to be able to request 1/2 order of the very generous pasta/seafood entrees, giving me the chance to order an appetizer as well. My... More

This was the best meal I had on my recent trip to New Orleans. My family grew up going here and I hadn't been for 15 years, so I was looking forward to returning. When I told a friend who lives in NOLA that I was dining here for dinner she said "good choice". So I was exdcited to bring... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
