This was the best meal I had on my recent trip to New Orleans. My family grew up going here and I hadn't been for 15 years, so I was looking forward to returning. When I told a friend who lives in NOLA that I was dining here for dinner she said "good choice". So I was exdcited to bring... More

Clancy's is a famous upscale restaurant for locals. I've been there dozens of times and have never been disappointed by their unusual and delicious fish, steaks, lobster risotto, gumbo and the list goes on. From the time you walk in and get served everything from your appetizers to your desert will be some of the best food you can eat... More

Food: Outstanding meal. We had the seared scallops with foie gras - foie gras could have been slightly more cooked to accentuate taste. Lobster risotto - one of the best risottos we've had. Soft shell crab - wonderful taste but not the best batter I've eaten. Crab claws - absolutely well cooked. Slightly on the sour side with the sauce.... More

Wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful atmosphere. Intimate enough for an anniversary dinner and lively enough for a great evening with dear friends. Don't miss the opportunity if you are visiting NOLA.

We were referred to Clancy's by a friend that is a chief and owns several restaurants . Clancy's is located in a neighborhood and the crowd appears to be locals. As our min dishes we had the drum fish and a filet with béarnaise. Both were absolutely excellent, the filet was cooked exactly as ordered and had a wonderful sear... More

Very good restaurant. My "one star" title for our waiter who claimed the restaurant does not need TripAdvisor ratings. If management agrees, this rating should not concern them. Almost a five-star experience except for the veal which was not tender and overcooked. The fried oysters with brie, crawfish beignets, and Boston salad were fantastic! The Speckled Trout very good. Don't... More

My wife and I made a special trip to Clancy's while in New Orleans for a recent work conference and took along another couple as guests for dinner. This is what the husband said: "This was one of the 10 best meals I've had in my life." If you're from out-of-town, you need to know where Clancy's is. (--I discovered... More

After eating at a ton of dives, we decided to go a bit fancier at Clancy's. Was interesting that they had a security guard outside as it's uptown. I had a Moscow Mule that was tasty but they put some type of powder in it and the powder clumped at the bottom. Good thing the food made up for it!... More

Been to this gem many of times and it's always consistently delicious and classic New Orleans. I had sweetbreads for the first time here and they do it right. You cannot leave without getting the lemon box pie. Great for groups as well.

This is a wonderful restaurant. From the moment we walked in the door the entire Clancy's team made us feel as though we were lost family members that had found our way home. Jeff was our server and we have never had better service. He was knowledgeable and honest about his view of each dish. He guided us to choices... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
