I've lived here and visited more times than I can count, but it never occurred to me to eat in the business district until my recent trip. A friend wanted to meet me at Herbsaint - her favorite restaurant. Not one to shy from new experiences, I'm so glad I agreed. It's an unusual menu, so making a decision was... More

Nice off the beaten path restaurant with a unique and different menu. Fine service and tasty dishes. Another in a wonderful array of New Orleans restaurant establishments.

Mr. Tom Fitzmorris rated the restaurant 65th of 350 in the greater New Orleans area. I, and our dining partners disagree. Service was ok, at least there were lots of them. Although, they served the wrong main dish to two diners. Demerit #1. Told a pasta dish was shareable as a first course - yes, as long as the patrons... More

HerbSaint is a wonderful dining experience in a relatively intimate setting for New Orleans. The service was prompt and courteous although our server did not seem to be as knowledgable as we would have expected. The food is excellent and very difficult to categorize with one word since so many of the dishes are blends of different cuisines. We plan... More

The perfect start for our New Orleans visit, a beautiful ,calm environment, great service and wonderful food. We ordered 2 small plates; bucatini with small bits of chicken liver and even better, the famous house made spaghetti with a white wine cream sauce . An encrusted perfectly poached egg and pancetta. We also shared a fresh greens salad and a side... More

Never have had a bad meal here... it's always super delicious and a good vibe. Some nights the clientele is perhaps a little less hip, but the food makes up for it. I always get the gumbo and then a gulf fish. Things I miss most about New Orleans.

A lovely restaurant with a wonderful menu of local dishes. The atmosphere was modern and bright but classic. The menu has a wide variety of choices - local fish, "New Orleans" fare and other unique choices. The fish was amazing! Service was friendly and professional. It was lunch time and the place was nearly full with business people so it... More

The best meal we had in our week long gastronomic tour of New Orleans. The dishes sound like they are simply moderate twists on old favorites, but the changes they make are transformative and the food was cooked and season perfectly, which is rare. We loved everything we tried and would have eaten here more than once if we had... More

We received a gift card from our son. So we came to Nola and had a fabulous dinner. Champagne and appetizer, then hub had the duck (signature dish) and I had the drum fish. Then desserts. Service was top notch and it was an excellent dinner.

I was here this Friday night with some friends. I hadn't been in 8 years and always had fond memories of it so I was looking forward to returning. It was good but not great, and our waiter was a little strange. We all started with the gumbo, which the waiter assured us was the best in town. Flavor was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
