I was here this Friday night with some friends. I hadn't been in 8 years and always had fond memories of it so I was looking forward to returning. It was good but not great, and our waiter was a little strange. We all started with the gumbo, which the waiter assured us was the best in town. Flavor was... More

Came for drinks only... should have stayed for dinner. All the food from the other guests looked amazing. The bartenders were friendly very knowledgeable about not only they craft but all so the city... with their very NOLA charm and hospitality. Will come back some day!

A foodie friend who live on Bourbon street until two years ago gave me six places that I must visit. Herbsaint was at the top of his list. He called it a top three restaurant. I cannot disagree. I started with the gumbo, which today was chicken and sausage. Best gumbo I've ever had! I followed with the Louisiana Shrimp... More

The experience was heavenly, I felt like I had stepped back in Paris, France from my younger days. The service was great, food and ambiance along with the Riesling Flight just superb, will visit again

We ate here last evening after our original reservation elsewhere fell through. (The other restaurant had an unexpected closure that evening and did a fantastic job getting us a last minute reservation at Herbsaint.). We had the steak and also the shrimp dish (candillo?). Both were excellent. My dessert (brown butter banana tart) was incredible and my husband said his... More

The lunch menu is original, everything was tasteful. A great service in this casual ambiance. Would come back for sure.

We had dinner at Herbsaint that consisted of several small plates. They were all delicious and perfectly prepared. The cocktails were also terrific. Service was attentive but not over bearing - all in all a great place to have wonderful food!

We randomly stumbled upon Herbsaint this past Saturday (later, not during the dinner rush) as it is just down the street from where we were staying at the Ace Hotel. We had the displeasure of being served by one of the RUDEST servers I have ever encountered. He actually ditched us half way through our meal and proceeded to ignore... More

My wife and I joined a long-time Louisiana friend and his date for dinner at Herbsaint at the end of our conference day -- I had dined there before during the Katrina aftermath period, he had not -- and it was the perfect setting to wind up this trip to New Orleans. Herbsaint is rather small, but quite good --... More

(Discovered) this place by chance, as it was just across the corner from my hotel, in our last evening in New Orleans. A nice French American restaurant, with an outdoor seating area. The waiting staff were just fantastic. We sat outside, with the historical tram passing by us; little street noise. Ordered the NOLA delicious cliche of red snapper, which... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
