From the outside it looks like a regular neighbourhood eatery. Step inside and the place is alive, even on a Monday evening. Very nice casual decor, mid size menu but covers all the bases. The food itself was excellent, the best meal I had in New Orleans. The steak was excellent, the meat grilled to perfection. Friendly efficient service. They... More

Walked to this restaurant from hotel and had a very good fish dinner. Service was good, food was good, watch out for the $12 salads though. We sat at the bar as there was an hour wait for a table but the food was just as good. I would return to this restaurant again, just would not order the salad.

Just popped in for a snack and beer, was a perfect place and the outside street seating was awesome. Staff and service was excellent.

When you go to New Orleans you are in foodie paradise -- there are so many great restaurants at all different price points -- Herbsaint was a knockout! Probably a top ten meal of all time for me, including trips to Italy, Paris, SF and living in NY. It was original without being gimmicky, very flavorful and made me want... More

By far our best meal in NOLA. Lots of locals there so that is always a good thing. It was recommended by a server at another restaurant and by a cooking school . If I return to NOLA will go again, and would recommend to others.

I visited Herbsaint for my significant other's birthday. This was my 3rd time visiting this restaurant in the past year. I have never had great service here, but I was never before insulted. We walked into Herbsaint at 8:30pm. We were greeted less than a minute after sitting. Good so far. We were brought waters after being asked if we... More

I've lived here and visited more times than I can count, but it never occurred to me to eat in the business district until my recent trip. A friend wanted to meet me at Herbsaint - her favorite restaurant. Not one to shy from new experiences, I'm so glad I agreed. It's an unusual menu, so making a decision was... More

Nice off the beaten path restaurant with a unique and different menu. Fine service and tasty dishes. Another in a wonderful array of New Orleans restaurant establishments.

Mr. Tom Fitzmorris rated the restaurant 65th of 350 in the greater New Orleans area. I, and our dining partners disagree. Service was ok, at least there were lots of them. Although, they served the wrong main dish to two diners. Demerit #1. Told a pasta dish was shareable as a first course - yes, as long as the patrons... More

HerbSaint is a wonderful dining experience in a relatively intimate setting for New Orleans. The service was prompt and courteous although our server did not seem to be as knowledgable as we would have expected. The food is excellent and very difficult to categorize with one word since so many of the dishes are blends of different cuisines. We plan... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
