Make reservations here, I repeat make reservations here! The place is very small inside and you will wait a long time to eat. We did in advance which was helpful. The food here was average and the portions are small. I had the shrimp and grits and it was quite spicy but good. The barbecue shrimp appetizer was probably the... More

Great food, we got the sampler but looks like everyone was enjoying their entrees. Service was friendly, helpful and prompt. We just wanted a quick cajun meal while walking bourbon st. NOLA exceeded out expectations.

We visited Nola with my wife's nephew and his girl friend, and each of us thought our food was excellent. While the wine list is not huge, we had a very good wine at a reasonable cost. The service was pretty typical for what we have experienced in New Orleans, laid back would be a nice description. We were a... More

I had an enjoyable dining experience at NOLA. Tried the BBQ shrimp (fairly spicy), duck confit pizza (nice earthy flavor). I was filling up quickly so I ordered the beet salad (a bit too much lettuce for my liking) and mussels with fries. It was a perfect portion of tender mussels with a scrumptious buttery sauce. The only way it... More

Nice bar which we used during waiting time. NOLA has several levels which you reach by elevator. Very friendly and professional service. The menu card has really a nice choice of main courses - it is hard to decide. At the end we had perfect snapper (special of the day), a salmon grilled to perfection and tasty shrimps with grit.... We dined on Thanksgiving eve, so you can bet the place was packed. We were seated near an extended family group of 16 (a 10 top and a 6 top) complete with screaming youngsters. Very loud, but I suspect this is always the case with the current vogue for "hard" surfaces throughout. We arrived a bit early for our 7pm... More

Great restaurant, great food. Maybe not the best place to take young children if you're on a budget. Pork chop dish was great. Better for an adult night out.

One of Chef Emeril's three...yes, three fine dining restaurants in New Orleans. A tasty selection of Creole and Cajun favorites like Crawfish Etouffee and Andouille Gumbo (featured gumbo varies every day). Simply delicious. Or you can enjoy some other chefs creative selections like the Miss Hays Chicken Wings. You can't go wrong here no matter what you choose. Service is... More

This was a mind blowing restaurant. We were walking and taking in the sights of New Orleans ran into a gentleman who proceeded to tell us how great this restaurant was. We made reservations and was not disappointed. I was not aware that emeril owned this restaurant. The staff was well-informed of the menu as well as the wine and... More

Nice setting in antique building. The focus of the restaurant is the beautiful open kitchen and the bar facing it. Should I return I'd want to eat at that bar and enjoy watching the cooks at work. The hickory smoked duck was utterly delicious but other dishes were just good. Chunky monkey ice cream, for one, made me think of... More

NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse's casual and funky eatery in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de cuisine Brian Mottola works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef's food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA serves dinner nightly and lunch Thursday through Monday.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
