We were so excited to go to Nola. Having been a fan of Emeril Lagasse for so long, I suppose my expectations were high. We flew in from Canada and this was at the top of my list for the trip. My companion had strip loin and I had fried chicken neither of which was up to our standards. The... More

The food was the best we had in New Orleans. I had a stripped plum and tomato salad. I also had fried chicken with collard greens. Others had seafood which was also excellent. Hot Fresh bread rolls We ordered 3 different kinds of deserts. Outstanding. Best to have reservations. We tried to add a few more friends and we were... More

I grew up watching Emeril and was in his audience twice, so, coming here was top of the list on my visit to New Orleans. I had no trouble making an online reservation on a Wednesday night. The interior of the restaurant was was clean and upbeat. Front desk staff were friendly but not overly so. Our waiter was excellent... More

Went to NOLA for dinner with several work friends. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was delicious. We had the Garlic Roasted Drum (fish); pork chop was huge; Duck was very well prepared. Very satisfied and will go again.

We went here because we heard it had the best-fried chicken around and that's what we wanted that evening. We were seated very fast and taken up to the third floor. There was hardly anyone else there, a few tables with people. We were seated very close to another couple. Our waitress came over and asked if we wanted the... More

Twelve of us had dinner and it was a phenomenal experience from drinks to desserts! I had their watermelon martini which was delicious, however, my husband had a grey goose martini and it was the best I'd ever tasted. Our server, Marco, was attentive and helpful on recommending dishes. I took his suggestion and ordered Drum, a mild, flaky white... More

I wanted to experience one of Emeril Lagasse's restaurants since I missed going to one in Vegas. NOLA is a fantastic example of a high end restaurant. The décor and atmosphere are very good. I had the Pork Chops and Crème Brule which were perfect. Meal was in the $50 range which I thought was an exceptional value. Only complaint,... More

We were very exited to find Nola was right by our hotel. We made it out first stop after we checked in. We were seated right away by a very nice hostess. That's where the pleasurable experience ended. We waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. We were just about ready to leave when someone came over... More

Had a great experience. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Definitely coming back. Fun to watch the chef and all the workers run the kitchen. It was a nice dinner.

Returned from New Orleans this morning where we ate at NOLA last night. My husband had the BBQ Shrimp appetizer. I tried one bite, but it was a little spicy for me. Husband loved them. Came with at least 6 good size shrimp and two pieces of crusty bread. For entrees husband had crawfish étouffée. (Which he eats at least... More

NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse's casual and funky eatery in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de cuisine Brian Mottola works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef's food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA serves dinner nightly and lunch Thursday through Monday.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
