First time I came to this restaurant, it was best crepes, onion soup I ever had. Came back a several times whenever I visited NOLA, it was also nice. But this time, can't describe how I disappointed, I ordered 3 dishes and of which 2 crepes (with shrimp, and dessert) I couldn't finish, they were tasteless. I might try again... More

Get the escargot!! Butter and garlic and snails?? Are you kidding? Dip your bread in that and eat. OMG it's good!!! All kinds of crepes - sweet and savory. Salads are real good - try the avocado with crab. We go every time we get to New Orleans and will go back next time we are there. It's that good.

Besides the European charm, the menu never fails to impress. Cannot get enough of the soups, crepes, mussels, and cheese and pate plates.

I ordered the crab crepe with spinach. The crepe was more like a pancake. The crab in a mornay sauce was tasty, but it was not in the crepe. I thought crepes were filled. The creamed spinach was not flavorful, actually rather bland. The crepe sat very hard in my stomach for quite a while. Can't address the restaurant decor... More

A small intimate Resturant with great crepes. Wonderful atmosphere and good service. One of our favorites but make reservations early. A welcome change of menu in a city of great places to eat. A Must stop if you like classic French cuisine.

We have been eating here for years - consistently good food and wonderful atmosphere. Service can be terrific or a bit slow - hence 4 out of 5. No reservations, so you can expect a wait if prime-time. (Worth it....). Nice array of French bistro cuisine, fresh fish, and extravagant over-the-top desserts. If you are not in a hurry and... La Crepe Nanou is a neighborhood restaurant comfortable enough for family dinner and lovely enough for a romantic night out. The food is delicious. The service attentive without being intrusive. We ate mussels and steak on our last visit. Perfection.

I've eaten at La Crepe Nanou many times over the past 8 years and I have always considered it to be a special treat. However, this is the second time I've been there this year and found the service to be lacking. We were seated quickly, but no one came to take our order until we finally asked the bartender... Crepe Nanou is a small restaurant but the food and service is terrific. I really enjoy going for a great bottle of wine and the pate platter. There steak is also good. I first went to the restaurant when I moved down from Washington D.C in 1992 and the restaurant is still going strong. Very relaxed atmosphere. You will enjoy... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
