Crepe Nanou is a small restaurant but the food and service is terrific. I really enjoy going for a great bottle of wine and the pate platter. There steak is also good. I first went to the restaurant when I moved down from Washington D.C in 1992 and the restaurant is still going strong. Very relaxed atmosphere. You will enjoy... More

This is a neighborhood place that really shines. Food is good. Prices are moderate. I've visited more than once, and unlike many places where you have a favorite, I order something different each time.

I love this place. So very French! The food is always excellent. The only problem is there are so many items we enjoy, it is hard to narrow down a choice. We love the mussels, cheese and pate' plate, all the salads and soups, all the crepes, steaks are excellent, fish is delightfully prepared and fresh, desserts and coffees scrumptuous!

This place is the closest one can get to a Parisian bistro within the United States. The food here is consistently delicious and always reasonable. The escargot never fails to please. The mussels and frites are stupendous. There is a nightly, delectable special. The staff is bohemian yet sophisticated. The proprietor has placed a personal stamp on this restaurant that... More

I have numerous food allergies and sensitivities. I was at this restaurant for a family celebration. The restaurant was exceptionally accommodating to my food issues and I had a wonderful and flavorful meal. There were no issues or complaints from anyone on the staff. Chef went out of his/her way to make my visit comfortable. BTW -- the lamb chops... More

A friend of ours who lives in the area suggested we try La Crepe Nanou. Two of us had the mussels which were excellent! Extremely fresh and very well prepared. You can have them with or without the garlic. All of the crepes were delicious too. It's hard to decide what to order on the menu. Service was good. We... More

I have been here multiple times and the food never seems to disappoint. The restaurant has a Parisian feel to it, is small and the tables are close together. When it fills up, it does tend to be a little loud. The menu is varied with something for everyone. Mussels are a popular appetizer and crepes for an entree or... More

This was a treat! You immediately feel swept away into a Parisian movie when you enter the doors. Warm, vibrant and a bit snug but truly enjoyable. The Mussels were some of the best I've ever had, great selection of French wines, and the filet was perfectly done ( get the mushroom sauce on the side). Will definitely be returning!

French onion soup was fabulous! The rest of our rainy Sunday brunch was a disappointment. The pomme frites were commercial cut frozen fries & the thick vinegary béarnaise was a blob. Nothing was hot except the soup. The cute neighborhood restaurant was irritatingly noisy today. Service was slow, scattered and salad ordered never served. Our Mimosa & iced tea glasses... More

This is a small French restaurant. Excellent service, mid-range options to choose from. They make great drinks. My salmon was a bit hard but i will give them a pass for that since everything else was a delight. Very busy usually as it is famous among the locals.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
