Tiny little restaurant on the quiet end of Royal. Fabulous food. We had a pizza and a veal/pasta dish. Both were well prepared and very good. Love the multitude of Mona Lisas for decor! (Some are a little more....risqué than others) Great option for a pretty authentic Italian meal! Will return, for sure.

Great joint with different takes on the famous painting everywhere. Enjoyed the Mardi Gras Pasta and found it very good, the Chicken Parmesean was slightly overcooked, but overall a good experience.

Stepped into Mona Lisa before the Southern Decadence parade overt Labor Day. We were seated promptly. The menu is ambitious - a lot of classic Italian dishes and pizzas. The restaurant is small and it was crowded. We placed orders for basic lunch dishes and were surprised by how long it to for them to come out, We enjoyed a... More

We loved the place! You can draw in the table over a big paper with crayons, off course the inspiration is a Mona Lisa. The service is kind and very good, the Spinach pizza amazing!

Visited this restaurant after a recommendation from a waiter in Jackson Square. Best Italian food I've ever had...no joke! My husband had the Spaghetti Bolognese and I had the Paneed Veal and we just couldn't believe how good it was. Definitely a must on our next visit in April. Oh, I've read a few reviews about a snarky waiter. If... More

Their pizza is the best! Their calzone is the best! I don't go to New Orleans without going to Mona Lisa!

The Mona Lisa is a quaint restaurant at the far end of Royal street (New Orleans French Quarter) that offers reasonable priced Italian food. Its main standout feature is the various Mona Lisa paintings that adorn the walls of the restaurant - some of them provided by previous diners. Each table is presented with a (quite large) piece of drawing... More

This was a cute little restaraunt off the beaten path. Perfect if you want a break from the traditional New Orleans cuisine. Pizza was tasty, a hefty crust and lots of toppings. The Alfredo pasta was delicious. Our daughter enjoyed drawing a Mona Lisa on the butcher paper table top. Very family friendly, attentive servers.

An unpretentious little Italian. Food was excellent and portions large. Service excellent - even provided 2 band aids when requested (don't ask!). I think the crayons that were provided to draw on the tablecloths were for the children - but we all enjoyed our varying success at creating our own unique take on the Mona Lisa. a fab unpretentious restaurant... Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
