We ate at this place after it was recommended by another guest at our hotel. We managed to get a same day booking even though it was quite busy and it was fantastic. Staff were great, intimate setting, food was fantastic and the photos on the wall of the celebrity fans of this place need to be seen. Highly recommended!

We were in New Orleans for a total of 5 nights...we had dinner at Irene's for 3 of those 5. To say it was the most all round fantastic dining experience would be an understatement. From incredibly engaging staff who knew their menu like the back of their hand (and clearly loved their job) to unbelievably delicious cuisine, I simply... More

We happened to stumble upon this restaurant by chance, and I´m so glad we did! What a treasure! We were lucky and got a table almost right away. The atmosphere in this restaurant is so great, and the food even better! Great service! The best restaurant we visited in New Orleans!

Nice atmosphere and our waiter was wonderful but the food was good but not great. Maybe it was what we ordered baked chicken and pan fried black drum. Other people raved about these dishes but we were not as impressed.

Found Irene's while taking a horse carriage ride through the french quarter. The atmosphere, the food and staff were absolutely fantastic. We counted ourselves lucky to stumble upon it.

Ended up here by chance and certainly glad we did. Walking around the French Quarter trying to find a place for dessert when we stumbled into Irenes. They got us seated quickly (it was 930 pm and we felt bad they would be closing at 1000 pm) and everything smelled so good that we had a starter, some wine, and... More

This restaurant is very nice, has a nice atmosphere, nice waiters etc but didn't quite live up to what I was expecting. The ravioli starter was fantastic and the veal/soft shell crab mains were nice also. My biggest issue with this place is that despite making a reservation for 8.15 we weren't when to our table until 9.15 which is... More

Irene's is a favorite of both tourists and locals. It's an eclectic, busy spot. The staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to offer amazing service. I had a nice tomato salad and a filet mignon. Everything was perfect. My steak was tender a perfect medium rare. It was textbook perfect! This is a great choice -... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
