We read about this place in the guest book at the apartment we were staying in and since it was just around the corner we decided to go. You HAVE to book and we could only get a table for 9pm. There was a pianist playing for you while you waited for your table which was nice and the general... More

We went about 6:15 pm on a Tuesday and there was already a bit of a line. They let us sit in The Garage (waiting area) which has a live pianist and lots of seating. Two drinks and just over an hour later we got seated. The waitress (Stacey) was great, explained everything well and made some good suggestions. Between... More

we atayed next door at the Hotel Povincial. The food is good but somewhat expensive. No breakfast on on weekends - only brunch.

The food was delicious. On the pricier side but totally worth it. Reservations recommended. However they really pack the tables in and it is very loud. Our waiter was condescending. The food and drink are top shelf!

There are many great places to dine in New Orleans and we have tried most of them in the past 20 years. However, we keep coming back to Irene's because we always feel welcome there and the food is outstanding.

I had to try Irene's after seeing reviews online before our trip. Having been to New orleans 12 times over the last 11 years, we try to go to new places every time and visit past faves. Irene's was very inviting from the moment we walked in. I had capri pants and a short sleeve shirt on and my husband---Kaki... More

We have been here several times. My husband gets the Lamb A' La Provence every time we go. I like trying something new and everything I have had is amazing.

Although we did not have reservations, they were very accommodating. We started with a bottle of wine while we waited for a table and it got really crowded about 7. Dinner was wonderful and Orlando was awesome! Both the lamb and filet mignon were perfect!

We had dinner here a few nights ago and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is cozy but bustling at the same time. The food was good, although I had been told by so many people that it was great that my expectations may have been a little too high. Still had a good meal and would recommend.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
