This place was perfect. From the moment we walked in the ambiance elegant with stunning decor. That was mirrored with a delicious menu, impeccable service and tasty appetizers. I highly reccomend especially for romatic couples!

The service was excellent, unfortunately the food was not. The oysters Irene (appetizer) were dry as was the duck(entree). The lasagne was mediocre at best. The music that was playing , was too loud, and consisted of 80's and 90's rock. I would've thought Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett kind of music, playing softly in the background, would have... More

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a tour guide, and it was perfect for our last night in New Orleans. Such a nice quiet dinning experience. A much needed wind down after a few wild nights on Bourbon street. The mussels appetizer was amazing sitting in the most delicious marinara sauce. I had a fish dish with... More

My husband & I stumbled upon this gem while we were a-wandering & it proved to be a worthwhile experience. While waiting a short time for a table we sipped a drink in the cocktail lounge at the rear & were serenaded by a fantastic live pianist who could play anything & even took requests! There was also space for... More

We had an amazing dinner at Irene's during our recent stay. We ate here with our three young kids - my son had the most delicious lasagna I've ever had. My hubs had the local fish special and he cannot stop thinking about it. One of our favorite meals - don't miss it, for sure!

My husband and I had a great dinner here at Irene's. This was delicious food and was a nice break from the endless New Orleans creole style food we had been eating everywhere. My husband had the veal Marsala which was fabulous and I had a steak special that was also delicious. The escargot appetizer was also great. Nice atmosphere... More

Great discovery. I've eaten numerous times in the French Quarter, but until this visit I did not know of this restaurant's existence. Will be back.

We made reservations before we arrived in New Orleans and glad we did because at 5:30 the restaurant was filled. The small tables are really close together. Our waiter was superb in checking to see how we were doing and refilling our water glasses. My son and I ordered the Louisiana drum which was a delicious mild white fish with... More

When in New Orleans this needs to be on your list for dinning. Filet was great. Also if the soft shell crabs are in season get it....it's delicious! If you can try to save room for dessert.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
