I have been a fan of Emeril for quite some time, visiting several of his restaurants in New Orleans and elsewhere. Having not been to New Orleans after Katrina I wanted to check something new and booked a table for dinner at Delmonico. The new trend in New Orleans of reclaiming all buildings for new purposes works really well in... More

I have been several times and enjoyed each. This was the first time with family. It was Friday night after Thanksgiving. Not that big of a crowd and relatively quite. I've been when the place can get quite loud. We had several starters the best being the baked oysters on special which were name st melo if I'm remembering right.... More

My husband and I made a last minute reservation here for dinner on Nov 10th. We were treated with the utmost courtesy and all of the servers had that traditional southern charm that you would expect. The food was delicious. The environment is very cozy but sophisticated. I would highly recommend and we hope to visit here again soon.

Outstanding food. Very attentive service. Best bananas Foster. Only bad experience: we arrived on time for our reservation and were told we had to wait in the bar area for our table. Unfortunately there was no place to sit nor stand. And we could not get anyone to offer to get us a drink. Could have ruined the evening but... More

Wife and I had reservations for 7:00 PM and were seated promptly. Staff was very friendly, especially our waiter. Turtle soup and main courses outstanding. But the Banana Foster was over the top. I recorded its flaming live on Facebook. Had a live pianist/singer that was very entertaining. Most enjoyable evening.

I was expecting an amazing steak at Emerils Delmonico and what I got was a steak seasoned excellently, cooked perfect at my liking of medium rare but the top of the steak seemed a tad chewy. I expected to cut my steak and feel like I was cutting into butter but this was not the case. It was good just... More

We were looking forward to this meal for weeks but we were very underwhelmed. Service was poor in not being able to explain dishes or recommend cocktails or wines. Food was expensive and again underwhelming for what we received. We missed creative "plating". Live piano was nice.

We went to Emeril's Delmonico for our 10th anniversary dinner. Everything from the atmosphere, to the service, to food is what you think of for a romantic celebration. The setting is lovely and everyone went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable evening. I had no idea what to really expect from an "Emeril's" restaurant, but the... More

For our splurge dinner while on vacation in New Orleans my wife and I decided on Emeril’s Delmonico. This was probably the best dining experience in our 30+ years of dating and marriage. We were looking to have dinner at one of the “name” restaurants while on vacation and since this was on St Charles Avenue and close to our... More

Located on the famed St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, Delmonico, the legendary, century-old institution, is an icon in the restaurant industry and has been a cornerstone of traditional Creole dining since 1895. Reopened by Emeril Lagasse in 1998 after an extensive historic renovation, Delmonico continues today serving a modern style of Louisiana's Creole cuisine with Emeril's warm style of service in a grand setting.

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
