My wife and I visit New Orleans each year and always eat at GW Fins because it is an outstanding restaurant and very easy to get to in the French Quarter. This restaurant has great food and both my wife and I enjoyed the pork chops with sweet potatoes which were outstanding. This restaurant really is a well oiled machine... More

We decided to try this restaurant since it has been so highly rated by so many others--and they were right! The Scalibut (a signature dish) had great flavor and texture. We also enjoyed the roasted cauliflower and the Brussels sprout leaves. Definitely delectable!

This was one of our favorite meals of all time. I have Celiacs, and had some trouble finding gluten free safe places in New Orleans. Our waiter Oliver was very knowledgeable about my options and there was plenty for me to eat. The smoked sizzling oysters were incredible, they are cold smoked and then gently cooked by serving them on... More

Wonderful meal in a comfortable setting in the heart of the quarter. Highlights included the Scalibut (scallops and halibut), oyster appetizer and salads. Only shortcoming was the drum, which was a little dry and lacking. Went based on trip advisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. The service was the star, from start to finish.

We visited on Valentines Day and were so impressed. The restaurant was not over crowded and presented the usual menu. I ordered the house specialty, Scalibut, which is halibut crusted with carmelized scallops. It was excellent. If you're looking for fine sea food dining in New Orleans, don't miss this place.

New Oleans is a town full of phenomenal restaurants, and this is a cut above the rest that I've tried. The bluefin tuna collar was unbelievable, and very rarely seen on a menu. There is a large selection of excellent, unique seafood dishes on the menu.

I wanted to go in for a quick meal at 5:45 PM and I thought that would be early enough in a Tuesday to miss the crowd. Wrong. The place was packed. I need up eating at the bar. I had the roasted oysters which did not look good but tasted very good. Also had the swordfish from the gulf... More

The service we experienced is what you would expect from a five-star restaurant. The food is fresh, varied menu – as to the catch of the day, presented and plated well, all to be outdone by the taste you experience. I have been here 3 times to celebrate my wedding anniversary and have never been disappointed by their offerings, staff,... More

Excellent food, vine and service. Both the fish, starter and main course were excellent and tasty. We had to go back the second day too.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
