My husband and I eat out at least 3 times a week in New Orleans. This ranks in my top 3 in town. I always get the Scalibut on lobster risotto. Last week my husband got the sheep's head(excellent and we had never seen that large a filet of that type of fish before.) A friend ordered the swordfish, which... More

From start to finish, this was the best meal I had in New Orleans. The food was freshly prepared, with wonderful combinations of ingredients to accompany each dish. All four of the women in my group would agree, this was our best restaurant experience on our weekend get-away.

This restaurant is a pure culinary paradise. Here, I recently had the third best meal of my life, only outranked by two in New York state. First of all, the interior is striking---a class act to be sure. And the menu is something to behold. I chose the pompano with crab fritters on a bed of tropical fruits (delicious) together... More

Had dinner with two friends at GW Fins this evening. I understand they were recently closed for about a month for kitchen reservations. I had salmon with a jalapeno glaze which was very well done. First course was a Beet Salad. A nice Pinot Noir wine went well with dinner. Service was great, portions were great. The summertime promotion menu... More

I'm always a bit skeptical when a restaurant gets so many enthusiastic reviews. But I must saw that GW Fins lived up to its reputation. Our group of four was promptly seated and served by an extremely pleasant waitress who spent quite a bit of time answering our questions and walking us through the menu selections. Our party ordered the... More

Couldn't believe I found zucchini blossoms with ricotta cheese in NOLA. It was amazing authentic Italian and just delicious! Scalibut was done perfectly. Service was terrific and atmosphere was delightful.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
