The evening started off on the wrong side when I was asked to leave my coat on because my new shirt didn't have a collar. I understand the owner not wanting to let in the riffraff, but every policy needs to be looked at individually....Our server Phelix was delightful and his manager Trodell was even better. Trodell turned the evening into a fun-filled night, and my wife and I had a wonderful time because of these two men. My wife's wine was very good, and my first martini wasn't right, but I didn't say anything. Turns out after looking at of check I ordered a very dry Belvedere martini, and they gave me a Grey Goose, my second martini I asked for just the Belvedere, and it was what I wanted. I guess, always check your check not just for extra charges but for correctness. We shared the Lobster Bisque, very good, the BBQ Shrimp, and the John Dory which was excellent. The Salty Malty for desert was very good, as was the Cappuccino. Because of these two staff people, we will go back for dinner again. Wear a shirt with a collar if you decide to eat here and make a reservation. We did, but the restaurant is busy.More

Wow what an experience. I just had the best meal of the year. Britney was our waiter. She was fantastic! First time in New Orleans and came here as a recommendation from the hotel concierge (Don at the Roosevelt) for our 20th wedding anniversary. The...biscuits were delicious, had three! My husband had a filet and I had the halibut. Both made to perfection. Nice touch with the personalized menu too. Highly recommend it.More

Wonderful meal and the most incredible service we have ever had (and we’re big travellers and foodies). We had the lobster dumplings (WOW) and the tuna and red snapper. It was delicious and so great value. Shout out to Fallon who completely made our night....Would recommend to all going to New Orleans!More

This is a very good restaurant in the heart of the quarter. All the selections are well prepared and well presented in pleasant surroundings. My only complaint is that there is nothing that makes this restaurant stand out from so many others serving seafood in...New Orleans. I expected a little bit more but you will certainly get a very good meal.More

First rate, from food to wine and service. Most enjoyable. Just getting back into the swing of things as customers and visitors return to New Orleans.

The Scalibut is a most. it is halibut cook with sliced scalp over it. It is outstanding and unique. BUT the service is fast and courteous but impersonnel. The decor is cold and very ordinary. So excellent food but not a romantic and warm place...to have dinner experience.More

Our server Ryan and team were an incredibly personable, efficient, knowledgeable, well oiled machine. They displayed effortless tray service, changes of cutlery, timely delivery of different courses. Had a nice conversation w/Marlon, mgr. and were given a copy of biscuit recipe which my wife enjoyed...more than ta beignet. The food was excellent, varied, fresh, tasty, w/proper seasoning. The plates were placed correctly w/logo on top of plate and menu item facing the customer. You could taste the food from the presentation. From the outside of the restaurant you would never get a sense of the ambience inside the muted shades, lighting, and pleasant decor. We sat in a booth on the second level, w/clear divider between levels in all booths. We were tickled by the Tempura Fish Wings and our main courses of seafood, John Colby and American Red Snapper were excellent. Creme Brûlée was creamy delicious. I suggest to Mgt. that a stair light from the platform the the restrooms be installed.More

We had the true pleasure I’m sitting at the bar and were greeted by three of the most talented energetic team playing are fun friendly informative mythologist we have come across in a long time. Chappy, Taylor y Bailey were AMAZING! Drinks were Done with...perfection and with the right amount of flavors taste we started with appetizers the trio of wages which was OK but good. Red Snapper Ceviche was Probably the best we’ve had ever perfect amount of spices and flavors as was the Cobia crutive. At the suggestion I had the Scallabit Which I asked to have well done and it was done perfectly the flavors were to die for. My husband had the sheep head crusted Parmesan equally done to perfection the bottle of wine was incredible watching the three girls work together nobody what’s without attention for being at the bar it was totally five stars delightfully delicious. We also asked about dessert and they gave us a couple suggestions well three and then we ordered them giving them to the girls I thought they were gonna fall over backwards when we said that they oops was for them but when you have such a talented serving staff it’s not just about a good tip but it’s also to let them enjoy delicious meals like we’re sitting there I wish there was a few more people similar to Chappy, Taylor and Bailey. This bar and fins are very fortunate to have them at the bar! Cheers and thank youMore

After a bit of confusion with the seating, our dinner at Fins was easily one of the best meals I've ever had. Most notably, the sea scallops were the most delicious, buttery and soft scallops I've ever experienced. Our waiter, Felix, was phenomenal. He was...attentive and kind and happy to chat and discuss menu items. Our appetizers and drinks were brought out quickly and our dinners and desserts were served then at reasonable intervals - I hate waiting too long after appetizers to get the dinner. The star of the show for the evening was definitely the salty malty pie, which I've since made a copy cat version several times at home since our trip. This pie has a pretzel crust and salty caramel ice cream filling and is topped with home made caramel and a chocolate covered pretzel. I like that the dining room was kept quite dark and the music was light. This place is definitely upscale - you will need attire appropriate for a nice restaurant. And be prepared to pay - this was our most expensive meal of our trip at almost $200 for two people. But build it into your budget and do not skip GW Fins while you are visiting NOLA.More
