Firstly the many positives: excellent food, warm and attentive service, the endless supply of warm biscuits and a place where people dress up and celebrate. A couple of things, however, meant it just fell short of it being the perfect meal. The noise in the...restaurant (guests all seemed to be shouting over each other) made it really difficult to hold a conversation. Secondly, the speed with which you are served made it a little tricky to relax. The food is too good to be associated with a fast food chain, but the gaps between the courses was very small. Finally, you have to run the gauntlet down Bourbon Street to get to the restaurant. Fun for some, I’m sure, less so for those with a slightly nervous disposition!More

GW Fins is a staple of New Orleans culture and cuisine. The food is outstanding and the decor is typical New Orleans style. Try the salmon!

I've been privileged to enjoy many different dining experiences, but I have to say that the staff at GW Fins is currently top of my list. What a great anniversary dinner! We (thankfully) had reservations and were sat on time. The Scalibut was everything and...more that's been mentioned before. The spoon cornbread has inhabited my dreams and probably will until I get to return. We enjoyed the ceviche and my husband had the red snapper...all just delicious. Shout out to Ian, Tyrell and Troydell for making our visit extra. Notable was when we were leaving every single employee that crossed our path (and it was crowded, so there were many) made a point to say "thanks for coming" or "enjoy your evening". Top notch from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!More

I do not give many 5 star reviews. I think they should only be for one of the best restaurants in the country. Well, this is one. The food taste was outrageous! Service was tops. Everything was taken care of without asking. The atmosphere was...very nice.More

What an amazing meal. The bartenders and our server, Jackie, were terrific, knowledgeable and helpful with ordering. The lobster dumplings are a must-try and the scalibut entree is delicious. It’s pricey but worth it!

Made a reservation for 5:30 PM on a Thursday for 2, and very glad we did! Loved everything about this restaurant - service, atmosphere, food! They were able to accommodate my vegetarian request - one of their shrimp pesto pastas without the shrimp. It was...so good! We shared the Pear Salad and the White Chocolate & Caramel Bread Pudding - both delicious! My husband had the Scalibut (their original signature dish), and he LOVED it - said he would return just to order it again.More

We had an amazing dinner here! Our waiter, Drew was top notch, very attentive and friendly. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and he made it truly special! The fresh fish selections are shipped in daily and you can really tell the difference.

Delicious! Don’t worry if your teen sons doesn’t have a collared shirt, they’ll lend him one! Interesting twists on fresh seafood. After sharing the lobster ravioli, I enjoyed the local drum seared with duck skin. My son devoured the seared local yellowtail tuna. However, the...menu changes nightly! Save room for the Salty Malty!!! We enjoyed the atmosphere, nicely decorated for Carnival Season.More

Delightful ambiance, and one-of-a-kind menu featuring fresh caught seafood, local staples, with a little fusion/twist. Jackie took amazing care of us, and we were in awe of each dish and key touches of this dining experience. This is a must visit. Chef has received a...James Beard Award. Try the snapper ceviche, the pork belly, shrimp remoulade, and “Scalibut”. Gluten free fry batter available and very allergen conscious.More

This was, in our opinion, a perfect meal. The wait staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. I have Alpha Gal Syndrome(allergy to dairy and meat from all animals with hooves, caused by a tick bite) As soon as I explained my allergy, our waiter knew...exactly what to recommend and which dishes should be avoided. I ordered the swordfish and my husband had the Scalibut, and both were perfectly seasoned and prepared. For dessert we shared the coconut on the half shell, which even though it is vegan, was decadent and delicious. It was not an inexpensive meal, but it was absolutely worth it. We will definitely return!More
