The food was good and authentic, especially if you.like more exotic meats like rabbit, chicken livers, alligator and venison. Everyone that worked there was friendly, except our waitress. She was odd and did not smile. I also consider the restaurant to be a bit pricey....Our bill for 3, including the tip was $200.More

This place’s ambience represents the quirkiness of its owner in a very good way. Every dish we had was so flavorful from the cornbread muffins to the red snapper to the rabbit, yes rabbit! Great local find away from the craziness . Definitely will, come back...again next time we’re in townMore

I'm a return customer for years. It was my boyfriends first visit to NOLA and first dinner in the city. I had hoped I hadn't over-hyped how good this place was. I did not. He told me the stuffed catfish with hollandaise might be better...than sex. I tried not to be offended. Great atmosphere, outstanding food. Only down side is they don't take reservations for under 5 people, but the wait on a Friday was still less than 30 min. Well worth the drive if you're staying downtown.More

We are dinner here tonight and everything was SO GOOD!!! Our server Doug was so friendly and helpful with his recommendations. We shared Brussel sprouts, alligator cheesecake and fried grits for apps then blackened redfish, bbq shrimp and eggplant for dinner. Can’t say enough about...how much we lived the atmosphere and food!More

We are not easily impressed, but the food here is really excellent, and just as important, so is the service. Right off the bat, thank you, Tasha, for stellar service. I got the blackened redfish with chili crab hollandaise, awesome!!! Best meal I've had in...a long time. Hubs got 2 apps, Alligator & shrimp cheesecake with duck & andouille gumbo. he liked them a lot. He really liked his bread pudding with caramel sauce the best, though. I enjoyed their version of a rum punch, really, really great! I can't wait to return!More

Came in for a small bite to eat. Had heard good things about this place over the years. However bar man ruined that soon by being rude by not wanting to serve the drink we ordered. Kinda talking down to us. On top of that...gumbo ordered came out cold. Not coming back here!More

This place was recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. We stayed in the Garden District and it was about a 20 minute ride on the St. Charles Streetcar that was wroth the trip as we drove by beautiful homes along the way. We...arrived early on a Saturday, just before 5:00 as we understood Jacques-Imo's can get very busy and we were seated right away. We shared the Alligator Cheesecake and the Fried Green Tomatoes and both were fantastic. I had alligator a couple of different ways on our trip and this by far was the best way it was done. For dinner I had the fried chicken, I'm not fried chicken connoisseur but I really enjoyed it along with the cole slaw and red beans and rice. The restaurant is filled with energy, even early in the evening, and the staff were all great. I'd recommend making the trip out to Jacques-Imo's if you're ever looking for something a little different from the general "Oyster Bar" themes of a lot of French Quarter places.More

I have never passed through the kitchen to get to my table before. I am also never passed through the dishwashing area to get to the bathroom. The place is wild, the light is gorgeous Mosaic colors. Great appetizers, good service. Rollicking scene. The main...course prices look expensive at first but you do get two sides. The owner allowed artists to take over the space. Be sure to look up at the ceiling when you walk in. Also, look to see what restaurant goods hopped aboard a 2010 space shuttle mission. I hope your experience is just as good.More

We had dinner recently, first time since covid lockdown. Most of the food was delicious, my other loved her eggplant pirogue and shrimp remoulade appetizer. Ditto my brussels sprouts with a pungent sauce. My ribeye, though large (really large!), was heavily salted with tons of...marbling--I couldn't finish it. The oversalting is always a problem for me here, especially given the heaviness of the cuisine (even the muffins are buttery.) Also the margaritas were too strong, we had to dliute them. Service was excellent as usual and it's a fun atmosphere. I recommend the seafood over the meat.More

You could not hear the person next to you it was so very noisy and loud. Loudest of any restaurant. My blackened red fish was good. Duck was good. Stuffed catfish was good. The place is full of color and clutter and noise. A fun...place if you don't want to talk to your dining companions. Walk thru bar & kitchen to get to table. Funky. There is even a table outside in the back of a pickup truck.More

Had a fantastic meal. Loved the local feel of the place. Every dish was fabulous. Shrimp Creole, Soft Crab, Etouffe. The shrimp and crawfish "cheesecake" was sensational. Then they brought free dessert for a graduate at our table -- creme brûlée and bread pudding. Service...was perfect.More

Great little place for a REAL New Orleans dinner. The atmosphere is very relaxed and staff is incredibly friendly. But the food is the real star here. From the amazing corn muffin starters to the mouth watering crab stuffed catfish and sides, it's all incredible....Portions are good sized so bring an appetite and you'll leave very happyMore

Yes, you can easily park in the street. We went there twice in November and had no trouble finding a parking space along the side walk. Hope this helps.
