We stopped in at happy hour for a couple of drinks. The drinks were very good, and one of the two bartenders were awesome... the other, not so much. We thought the modern decour was a bit out of place in the French Quarter.

The menu did not have a wide selection. The food was average. I would've wanted to spend my time at a more Creole place for authentic food.

It can be difficult in NOLA to find a dinner venue for 20+ people, but SouBou offered a large room and close to our hotel. The service was excellent! Varying opinions on the food, but always difficult when served family style and limited selections for a large group. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

We were looking for a tapas style restaurant and stumbled upon SouBou. We ordered 3-4 plates to share and were quite pleased by them, however, the service was very slow and the plates came out essentially at the same time vs. one or two at a time so we could enjoy them while they were hot. While we didn't go... More

Poor timing at the beginning of the meal ruined it for us. (Appetizers came before drinks.)Nevertheless, we soldiered on digging in to the gloppy soup with the glutinous rice ball. The pork with apples had no apple taste and my wife left half her fish (un-heard-of).

Visited SouBou for the first time during their happy hour at the bar, and very much enjoyed it. Got there right at 3pm and the bartenders were quick to tell everyone that it was happy hour and where to find the specials in the menu, which was appreciated. Drinks - I had the Rowdy Hawaiian and very much enjoyed it,... More

Only stopped here for drinks. Visited during Christmas holiday and this place was amazing. Entering the establishment your eyes are transfixed on the hundreds of interesting bottles arranged neatly on the walls. Walking up to the bar was just as pleasant with various herbs awaiting to be used. I loved the drinks and will have to come back to try... More

If you have a healthy appetite and are a value for money customer, don't visit Soubou. While we can't blame the restaurant, they caution you that portions are small and the prices are visible, before you order, we felt cheated when the bill came.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
