Wow! The dish "death by gumbo" and the scallops were amazing. Everything was perfectly cooked, on time, and tasty. Impeccable service in an elegant setting, with gourmet food that is accessible to all. Can't get over how well they did for our party of 12 with varying requests like splitting checks, accommodating food allergies, and quizzing waiters about wine and... More

R'evolution is a unique dining experience. It really is a terrific spot, but our meals (I had the boneless short ribs and my wife had the filet mignon) were not spectacular. This is definitely a must visit for special occasions, but I felt as though we overpaid for the quality of meal we enjoyed. Still, the restaurant is very nice... More

It was our first visit to R'evolution. Our server, Brooke, was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. We started with the crab beignets which are a must. We could have eaten those all night. We also tried the shrimp appetizer and it was average (it was not one of the appetizers suggested by our server - we should... More

This place was amazing! Made reservations the night before, I don't suggest it but getting in at 6:30pm wasn't bad. We were on our honeymoon and they treated us like a king and queen. Service was beyond amazing, great attitude, sincerity and humor from the staff. The food was incredible. My wife has been talking about her dish for the... More

My husband and I had the privilege and honor to celebrate our friend's birthday with his wife in this gem of a restaurant. Chef John Folse has created an experience of a lifetime in R'evolution. Troy is hospitality personified and we will definitely be regulars in this new favorite of mine. Troy curated dinner for our table in only a... More

I grew up in New Orleans, and I love Southern food. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and while he was excited, one glance at the menu left me thinking "uh-oh." I do not prefer game or oysters or cheese...but the head waiter Troy was so awe)some. He and our servers (andre? ..i know it starts with an... More

My wife and I had drinks and appetizers at the R'evolution bar. Based on the appetizers I am guessing the food in the restaurant must be superb. The bar itself is sophisticated and quiet, though just a half a block off of Bourbon Street. Smooth contemporary jazz and a relaxed feel make this a perfect stop for a late afternoon... More

Best food and service in the French Quarter. 5 Star. Filet Mignon is best I have ever had. Crab Beignet was superb!! Service top notch.beautiful bar. Located in Royal Sonesta Hotel although an independent restaurant. Expensive but worth it for a special night. Friend had best lamb chop in his life.

Serving Lunch on Fridays, Dinner nightly and Sunday Jazz Brunch. Restaurant R'evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning Chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto offering modern, imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chefs' interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo, po' boys, and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as "the swamp floor pantry." Tableside service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying.Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries. Desserts showcase classical New Orleans sweets done in a new and contemporary way.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
