Our plane arrived in the early evening, we were a little tired, and we did not want to change clothes but wanted some really good food at a casual place to kick-off our week in the French Quarter. Close to our hotel we passed this restaurant and read the menu. It sounded pretty good so we went in. Boy was... More

Excellent blackened catfish po'boy. Stopped her for a quick lunch prior to a tour, and they got us in-n-out in a flash.

The place is a bit dumpy looking, but once you get past that, you're in for a treat! The Sazerac was really wonderful, and the gluten free crab cakes were outstanding!

I love their bloody Mary's which you can get to go, cause it's NOLA! 😉 their etouffe is wonderful. Every dish we ate there was great. And as always the service was friendly and prompt.

Silverware had grime on it. Napkins dirty. Cups dirty. Excessive wait for food after already being seated. Alligator appetizer was outstanding. Red beans and rice was good. Gumbo was very good. Crawfish Etouffe was okay. It came out noticeably colder (barely warm) than the rest of the dish. Likely won't be back, better options a stones throw away.

Just finished lunch and am very satisfied. The shrimp po boy was terrific. Langston took great care of me and I am grateful that the rain probably kept folks inside today. I walked right in and had a table looking out onto Bourbon St. Sitting here, I am trying to figure out if I can hold another one. Tastes like... More

We spent three days in New Orleans and ate in Nola Cookery twice! We absolutely loved everything that was made for us and an absolute highlight of possibly the whole trip was meeting Bobby, an incredible server who gave us a huge amount of love and attention no matter what request we threw at him ( gluten free dairy free... The fried oysters and shrimp were not as good. The bread pudding was unique and good, but not what some people might expect. Price similar to Felix's but interior a bit nicer. Excellent waitress.

Came here from UK looking forward to trying Cajun food. Sadly we chose the wrong place. Very average. I presume it can be better than this, everything fried and no subtlety whatsoever.

Jarvis was a fixture at the door and convinced us to come in to try the Crawfish Etouffe - and tell them that "Jarvis sent us" - so we did. I actually had the Barbecued Shrimp - after the kitchen first sent out a sample of the sauce as I am not a fan of tomato-style heavy barbecue sauce on... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
