Beng police officers ourselves and having two kids, we had to try Blue Dot. We had the best apple fritter and glazed cake blueberry donut ever!

I've been a Blue Dot regular for three years and can't recommend the place enough. They do specialty doughnuts very well (maple-bacon long John and others like red velvet and pb&j) but it's the classics that I keep going back for. Glazed buttermilk, wedding cake, and the apple fritters are my favorites but first timers should try the buttermilk drops.... More

A bacon doughnut seems like a slam dunk combo, but it isn't so. There's a place at home in Baltimore that makes them, which I had and I was like, "Meh." Not so the Blue Dot. It may help that it is very maple-sugary sweet, but it's actually pretty balanced in flavor. It is also massive (like the double-wide of... More

Stayed down the street from this place and was served a glazed donut that looked ordinary, but tasted great. Made a stop on the way out of town and got some to go--all excellent!

This place's food is as good as promised, probably one of the best donuts I've ever had. However, there is no menu for what type of donuts they have available and the attendant that served me was very short and impatient with my questions about what they had.

We had heard of blue dot from a local, and made it our last stop on the way out of town early one morning, Young lady at counter quickly waited on 12 of us without complaint, and at the end said we were easier large group than most :). Maple Bacon donuts are really really good. It is like the... More

Donuts were good, people were friendly. We got the last of the maple bacon, wow sweet and the bacon was good bacon. I would not drive a long way out of the way to go to it though.

You definitely have to get here early if you want a good selection of donuts. They do some fun flavors like "red velvet cake" and "king cake" but nothing revolutionary. There's good flavor but they're a little dense and heavy. If you're looking for good donuts in New Orleans, there are better places. But if you're craving a donut NOW... More

I work at a doggy daycare in town and the owner of this bakery brings us donuts every Friday to thank us for hanging out with the fur-children. The donuts are so good! They are really big and fluffy and I usually have to split one in half. They last all day, too (when they don't get devoured first). You... More

I saw the reviews and had to go here. It was way up canal so if staying near the water you will need a car, cab or trolly to get here. Expect to wait in a long line! The good news is the ride, the parking and the wait were well worth it. I got a sampling of their donuts... More

Hidden little gem! looking for donuts in New Orleans didn't find anything other than the Beignets. Been there done that. overrated to me personally. Stumbled upon Blue Dot Donut's online tried them on 07/16/11 what a find. They have a Long John that has Maple glaze on top and Bacon!!!!!!!!!!!! wow talk about GR8!!!!!!!! it was really good sweet and salty the donut itself was warm and soft I highly recommend. A large variety of donuts and followed up my exit of New Orleans with one more stop at Blue Dot Donut's for the road. You gotta try it for yourself. Venture out of the French Quarter and find hidden treasures its worth the journey.
