Our bartender, Marvin, was fabulous! Turns out he's a published author! I ran to the gift shop and picked up a copy of his book "Magic in a Shaker" and went back to have him sign it. We met another couple from Minnesota and also some other people while sitting at the bar. I don't know if it's because it's... More

Had a last drink here a couple of nights. Good prices and good gin! Band was brilliant and sang modern and classics. Don't be too late getting there as seats get taken. Loved it!

Great music, and a fun atmosphere. You can tell this place is a classy joint, not just by the fabulous music, but the packed house. Dress nice, its worth it. Dancing is a must. . Really enjoyed my time here.

This place is a must go for a drink. You can either sit at the carousel which slowly rotates 360 degrees or at any of the many small tables. This bar is always crowded. Well worth the wait for a seat. Excellent cocktails.

Happened by as we were antique shopping. Headed to carousel bar and ordered a Manhatten. Bar tender recommended a great bourbon. Sipped this delicious drink while pleasantly making rounds around the bar. Awesome old hotel and beautiful artwork. Fun and felt like i was experiencing a true Nola legend.

You will have to stalk people to get a seat but it is so worth it. We managed to get 4 seats at about 10pm. Try the French 007 champagne cocktail.

We stopped in here to get out of the heat. The house Chardonnay was very good for a house wine. The bar was very busy and vibrant.

This is the best bar in town! Slow revolving carousel makes for lots of fun and easy enough to get on and off.. even after a few drinks. Would definitely recommend - try the Pimms Cup - best in town!

Finally had a chance to pop in for drinks. It didn't disappoint. Wonderful classy cocktail bar. Really enjoyed sitting up on the carousel. Had a great time and highly recommend for anyone looking for a classic cocktail bar with a great vibe.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
