Stopped for lunch and was not disappointed. We got different tacos and they were all good. Great selection and the service was great. Black beans and polenta are great side dishes offered

Really enjoyed the food. I tried the tacos........Excellent! Plan ahead and be prepared to wait for table. We waited about 30 minutes, not bad for a Friday night. Key lime pie was very good as well! Looking forward to my next visit there.

It took some patience getting down to this end of town via public transit. Husband was getting a bit iffy about the whole idea of checking out the garden district and I kept pressing on. This restaurant and bar definitely made up for the (slight) hassle of getting to this section of town. The service was really good, the drinks... More

The food is good. The salsa is fresh and the drinks are well made and the service is friendly. But the place has a very "chain restaurant" feel to it. It does have outdoor seating but it's not very convenient. If this were in any other city it would be 4 stars. But New Orleans has so much awesome food... More

Be prepared for a very noisy environment! Good food and good drinks! Good for family and friends. Not a romantic place

We visited twice during our stay because the tacos, drinks and staff were all so wonderful. Tacos are small and affordable ($12 for 3 and a side) so you can explore the menu, which includes brisket, fish, chicken, and the mole, Thai, spicy, and Caribbean flavorings. The menu has loads of other options too.

I don't get the hype surrounding this place. I live a couple blocks away and see that it is always busy. The drinks are good but everything else is just average. I got an oyster taco and it only had one tiny oyster on it. I could wrap the tortilla around it like a purse. The food tasted decent but... More

We were antique shopping and saw this place and decided to give it a try for lunch. I had a crab meat sandwich with cheese and a fried green tomato., Sounds odd but it was amazing!~ Hubby had 3 asst. tacos that were fabulous, too. We would have gone back for dinner but already had other plans. Service as great.... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
