It was good! I had the Polpetta.. I never would have guessed that meatballs, ricotta and red gravy omelet would mesh...It was good! Rosemary potatoes were edible but secondary, as they tasted pre-made...I had the chickory coffee and it was tasty..I was also able to taste the browned pancakes and italian sausage and both were delicious...check it out! it is... Patrick welcomed us and recommended plentiful food like eggs Florentine and a gluten free pumpkin muffin that I would have never guessed was GF. The biscuits that came with my husband's breakfast were heaven! The fruit salad was fresh and my 5 year old actually enjoyed eating it! Thank you. The mimosa wasn't too orange juicy, it was the perfect... More

I really enjoyed the menu so I decided to try it out. We went for breakfast around 830 on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Service was excellent and the menu was very imaginative. I ordered the cannoli pancakes and a bakery basket with coffee and orange juice. Everything was delicious and well worth the price. I wasn't happy with... More

We stopped here for breakfast based on a friend recommendation and it was spot on. At first the Italian menu was a little overwhelming but ordered the Brioche French toast with egg, jersey pork roll, and mozzarella. Shared with husband and they spit meal for us so it was plated to share. Best waitress ever and no wait. This is... More

This restaurant touts "Best Brunch" by Open Table. It's small, decorated in traditional Italian red fabric. I understand red Gravy is a marinara, not Southern gravy. Not a lot of choices unless you want waffles. I got the Eggs Florentine and it was overcooked and so sizzling I couldn't eat it for several minutes while it continued to cook even more.... More

We were there over labor day weekend with a special menu. It's Like dinner and breakfast had a baby. Red gravy means marinara. So breakfast was like an omelet covered in marinara, meatballs and cheese. Yummy, but not run of the mill. Staff was great.

I'm a born and raised New Orleanian, and if there's one thing I've learned in my life it's to stay away from the spots that attract tourists. My brother-in-law stumbled in on this place with friends and had a few nice things to say about it. So my husband and I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to bend... More

Kelleigh, Thank you for coming in and for taking time to review your experience. Red Gravy was closed this past weekend for vacation, and the previous weekend, the weekend I assume you were in, was a combination of Labor Day and Decadence festival. Both make for a very busy weekend for us. Normally, I am always in the restaurant, each... More

We went here for brunch on recommendation of a friend, and were not disappointed. Would have liked to have dinner here but its only open 8a to 2p. Party of 3, we had a mix of breakfast and lunch items. The presentation and freshness, along with the decor, and service were lovely.

Thank Janet A

Bright and cheereful spot at the edge of the CBD, just across from the French Quarter. Red Gravy is a dedicated Farm to Table restaurant, sourcing most of our ingredients from local farmers, fishers and bakers. Currently listed as the #1 Brunch spot in New Orleans by OpenTable! Our brunch menu is comprised of traditional breakfast items, traditional Italian specialties like our handmade pasta and famous homemade meatballs, typical northern New Jersey/New York dishes and local, New Orleans favorites. Full service bar, cappuccino and espresso available. Come and eat, I always make too much!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
