Excellent club with a great line up in Frenchman St ...Jazz Band the night we were there. Very relaxed vibe , huge Bourbon and drink choice and good food selection... Oysters and sliders were a stand out. I suggest booking as the line is long for this popular venue.

Although we had booked we still needed to wait for our table. The entry system leaves a lot to be desired with you having to stand outside whilst the table becomes available. We were offered a table at the back or front & chose back as the music was loud. But it was really fantastic! The food & wine too... More

Let's start with the positive stuff. The live music was good and the food ok. I and my girlfriend went to this place full of enthusiasm to celebrate the last day in New Orleans. Unfortunately our table was served by a young woman who made our experience really ugly. We went there without documents and she said (rightly I guess)... More

If you ever walk outside of the French Quarter, you should head to the Frenchman, where in my view, good music/Jazz is happening, in the tradition of New Orleans. We were looking for a place with a good Jazz band (most of all the places have good band, but we are more into the older style Jazz), we found the... More

My 16 yr old son and I ate here on Sunday August 7th. I had made reservations ahead of time since I had been before and knew I needed to. We walked around the Art Market on Frenchmen before dinner and then went to 3 Muses. The music was very good and the food was as well. It is small... More

Good friendly vibe book ahead.Really Nice food especially oysters, sliders, fish tacos and pork. Great jazz band. There is also great brass street outside once you have finished at 3 muses. So spend some time on the street

My wife and our two twenty something sons came here for a 9pm post-dinner on. Friday night. We still had to wait for a table despite having a reservation, but we highly recommend having one in advance. The venue is small and intimate, the drinks are powerful and eclectic. The wait and bar staff were helpful and charming. The band,... More

Another good spots in Frenchman St where to enjoy real Jazz. The snacks available are good, as well as the drinks, but the real deal is the music. The band performing when I visited it was amazing, real Old jazz (finally). Something not easy to find at the more widely famous (but more commercial now) Bourbon St.

A fun evening! We stuck with the beer, small plates to be shared and enjoyed the music! Two musicians playing guitar, harmonica, piano, a box (in lieu of a drum) and sax. Wow! There were a mix of visitors and locals. Made for a fun evening!

We went to 3 Muses for dinner and it did not disappoint. We were seated at a table right in front of the band which was great and it was nice and cool inside. It is a tapas style restaurant which worked well for out group of three. We had the fries which were super yummy, the shrimp of the... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
