Loved the food and the place... a really nice place... the only minus is, that it can end up being a bit expensive as the food is tapas style and you need more dishes to make it a dinner

We were looking for something with vegetarian options, live music and in the Frenchman Street district. The food is served Tapas style and the small dishes are ideal for sharing. Relaxed atmosphere with great live music. The evening we visited the music included a harmonica. Check out the menu before you visit to make sure there is something that pleases... More

Loved the food - nice takes on some faves - lamb sliders, a hit with me, also the shrimp dish was fun and portions very generous. Atmosphere easy and casual like most of New Orleans. Of course the band was great. Creative cocktails, this place lives up to its reputation.

I'm here in NOLA for a conference, and was given this restaurant as a recommendation because I like live music with dinner. It lives up to the hype. The pork belly is magical, the tempura shrimp (I'm eating it as I type this) is outrageously good. I'm ordering my second "the muse" cocktail, all the while there is an incredible... More

First place that was recommended to us when we said that we wanted to head out and have some cocktails and listen to some live music. This was my first time to Louisiana, New Orleans, and Frenchman's Street. I was in awe! I am so happy that Three Muses is where we landed. The bartender, a woman, was super friendly... More

Great place for more intimate jazz and great food. The plates are small so it's like a Lousiana tapas. We ate the pork belly, beef rice, mac n cheese and lemon pie. All of them were fantastic! They serve a great range of really tasty cocktails, service was great and the Jazz band also. I would highly recommend this place,... More

Stumbled into this small place on Frenchmen Street and realized this was a "go to" place based on the number of reservations. But a table was found for me and my colleague and sure glad they did. This is a small plate restaurant so if you're with others make sure they like to share. The menu is small but extremely... More

Mac&cheese, blue cheese dates with bacon and tempura shrimp were awesome. Music was very nice and made it for a lovely dinner experience. All their menu options are great and drinks too. It is certainly a good option for music and dinner with teenagers.

Three Muses is a small restaurant with music on Frenchmen Street, where supper and jazz clubs are lined up on every block like dominoes. I went specifically to hear the Hot Club band and they were, as usual, terrific. What I did not expect was the quality of the food. Even by generally high New Orleans standards, the fish tacos... This place is small and eclectic. You may need to wait for a table, but it is worth it. It is an intimate venue, and a great New Orleans experience away from the commercial Bourbon Street scene. Menu is tapas style designed to be shared, and the bar is well stocked. Great cocktails and a good well priced wine selection.... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
