We read rave reviews about the Three Muses, so it was one of 3 restaurants we made reservations for while in NOLA. It's a cute little restaurant on Frenchmen Street. They had live music while we are there (you can only stay 1.5 hours at your table). We ordered the Korean Bulgogi - it was pretty good (too much rice... More

This is a lovely litte bar/restaurant with live music that isn't too loud but enjoyable. The bar staff are extremely knowlegeable and the shelves are well-stocked. Everyone was very friendly and we felt so welcome that we returned. For the week we were in the city, it became our "local".

This is a piano bar, small entrees, drinks place. Very small and not accommodating for a party over 6 and we were a party of 11. Our host was annoyed that we requested to sit together and acted like it was a hardship. He was unwilling to put a larger table together for us even though there were tables available.... More

We booked following a recommendation. It is an intimate restaurant with little room to spare between diners. The cocktails were high end and the bar staff worked hard to mix a drink to suit your palette. The music created an heady atmosphere and there was not much conversation in the room. The food was of a good quality but came... More

We brought my teenage niece here (based on another review.) We had a great time listening to the music and the 1.5 hour limit was just right. I got the cheese plate and fish tacos. The cheese plate was the better of the two. My cocktail was good, and our waitress was friendly and very helpful.

Excellent club with a great line up in Frenchman St ...Jazz Band the night we were there. Very relaxed vibe , huge Bourbon and drink choice and good food selection... Oysters and sliders were a stand out. I suggest booking as the line is long for this popular venue.

Although we had booked we still needed to wait for our table. The entry system leaves a lot to be desired with you having to stand outside whilst the table becomes available. We were offered a table at the back or front & chose back as the music was loud. But it was really fantastic! The food & wine too... More

Let's start with the positive stuff. The live music was good and the food ok. I and my girlfriend went to this place full of enthusiasm to celebrate the last day in New Orleans. Unfortunately our table was served by a young woman who made our experience really ugly. We went there without documents and she said (rightly I guess)... More

If you ever walk outside of the French Quarter, you should head to the Frenchman, where in my view, good music/Jazz is happening, in the tradition of New Orleans. We were looking for a place with a good Jazz band (most of all the places have good band, but we are more into the older style Jazz), we found the... More

My 16 yr old son and I ate here on Sunday August 7th. I had made reservations ahead of time since I had been before and knew I needed to. We walked around the Art Market on Frenchmen before dinner and then went to 3 Muses. The music was very good and the food was as well. It is small... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
