I had a catfish Po Boy that was excellent. My Father had the alligator. I tasted it and it was pretty good too.

This restaurant is at a very nice location along the Mississippi River. It was extremely hot out and we were seated inside with no wait. The tables were unfortunately crammed together and we barely had elbow room. It took forever just to get our drinks. The family at the table next to us finally gave up and left after a... More

A little slow, but they were pretty crowded. The dacquiris were very strong and very cold. The muffalatta is as big as your head.

This is a must stop for anyone who wants reasonably priced, well cooked, down Louisiana food. The menu will meet even the pickiest eater and the daredevil will find things to try as well (you can ask for more spice). The restaurant can be really warm even inside, but it is worth it. Every once in a while, a breeze... More

My server was Diamond, who was awesome. She told me that Voodoo Juice would sneak up one and it sure did! I ate the chicken quesasidillia which was wonderful. They are not open for dinner though.

While waiting for the Creole Queen to depart for one of our annual river trips, we ate at Poppy's Time Out -- right there at the foot of the sternwheeler's pier. Real good burgers, po' boys, sammies -- lots of beer choices and not bad on the wallet.

I always stop in to watch the Kansas City Royals game if they're on while I'm there. I always buy a Groupon and with their great staff, I don't get an attitude of using it like I do at other places. Cheese Quesadillas are awesome.

First off, mediocre food can be overcome with great service- not here. The service was more than bad....awful would be my feedback. Sat outside, took forever to get a server while 2 waitresses sat not 10 feet from me gossiping and complaining. When she did finally come and take our order, it came out quickly- but that's the only good... More

The waiter was great but he was the ONLY one on staff at 6pm on a Wednesday night next to a Nurses convention of 8000+. Poor management. He did his best. The kitchen on the other hand, not their best. Food was mediocre but the Rollin on the River drink was delicious ☺️

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
