Met Matt Lo-Fink at Bellocq. Matt is a talented bartender who seems to get the art of his craft well beyond being able to make a good drink. He gave us the recommendation for Cure where he is an apprentice bartender. This place is a bit of an uber ride outside the French Quarter and maybe even past what is... More

Away from the noise a bar that makes awesome cocktails that you will be able to enjoy with friends and family and have a conversation. The bartenders are very knowledgable and friendly. Great place!!!

Wife and I visited for Mumford and Sons concert. Just the place we were looking for. Truly craft cocktails. High quality and not pretentious. Chill atmosphere but still energetic. Great service. Wish we had a similar place closer to home. We each had a couple drinks which were excellent. Also had an appetizer which was very good.

We found this little place by searching "secret cocktail bars" and we were thrilled we did. Filled with great spirits, and creative cocktails. Amazing bartenders. They also have a small plates menu which we didn't try because we came after dinner, but fabulous looking menu with all types of treats, including many different cheeses.

This is a cool bar with true artisan cocktails. The booths are comfortable and the mixology is top notch. Ask what the daily punch it too. Not too sweet but very unique and delicious.

The back bar of this place is absolutely amazing. One of the largest collections of bottles I have seen! It's a beautiful looking room and I think they also have a nice outdoor seating area. Really great cocktail menu, and the bowl of punch for happy hour was a nice touch! We had a fantastic bartender, and the service here... More

Thank you so much for knowing how to make a Long Island Iced Tea, definitely a lost art. Great fun at Cure BUT PLEASE LOSE THE GIANT ENTOMOLOGY CHART OF A COCKROACH ON THE WALL.

Interesting and creative drink menu. Sit at the bar so you can watch the mixologist at work. the appetizers were tasty as well. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Neighborhood place but also locals from all over the city and some tourists know of this gem as well!

We were staying in the neighborhood. Cure was our "go to" place for a great happy hour Manhattan. A very stylish place, with a very hip but unpretentious atmosphere. Inside and outdoor dining. The food was good, but not wow. If this is the beginning of your night.... you have started it out at the right place!

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
