My husband ordered the catfish special and it was amazing. I had a really good Freekeh salad...his lunch was just so good though. The outdoor seating is nice.

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant. The staff is friendly, the place is charming (outside dining) and food is SUPERB. Our entrees were better than expected. Worth trying: Beet hummus and both "mofongo" dishes.

As a vegetarian looking for a decent meal in a city that caters to seafood lovers I thought the Green Goddess would be a good option. While the staff was excellent the very limited seating and dining outside only is not ideal. Being in New Orleans in July is a sweaty humid experience so eating outside mid-day is not fun.... More

I had lunch here based on my hotel concierge recommendation. They did not warn me about the lack of A/C, so I just want to alert readers to that fact. It was about 90 degrees, with outdoor seating in the alley. The server said there was also a room inside, but it was even hotter in there. So I sat... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant on exchange alley. Was really pleased! Our waitress was super nice. As the vegetarian of the group, I was stoked to find such a wide selection. My carnivorous friends were pleasantly surprised! Rare for everyone to come away happy. I understand you should try the bacon sundae!

My boyfriend and I came here a few days ago to celebrate my birthday. The waiter seemed to think he was "too cool" and "too hip" for us. It was irritating, especially being from one of the "hippest" cities in America (Austin). I was really excited to try this place as I am a vegetarian. I ordered the special (sweet... More

New Orleans is a tough place for a vegetarian. It would also be a tough place for someone with a shell fish allergy. Although this place is not a vegetarian restaurant, it clearly marks vegan, gluten and vegetarian items We enjoyed whatever we ate. I do not believe you can eat inside the restaurant so I'm not sure what they... More

Arriving a couple days early to New Orleans before meeting friends, I decided to try several vegetarian food options in the French Quarter, discovered Green Goddess with Yelp, and went to try it out--right as a downpour started that left six to eight inches of standing water on Bourbon Street. Anyways, the staff welcomed me (and a few other wet... More

Amazing and creative food that is mostly locally sourced. Seating is outside in a quaint alley. The menu will satisfy vegan, gluten free, and omnivorous needs. The vegan bananas foster was out of this world.

Small place in a picturesque alley in the French Quarter. Tasty salads and seafood dishes, local beers and friendly, no-fuss service. The dessert menu is a bit on the wildside with ingredients such as lava salt, bacon, cheddar and gouda cheese . Extra plus for vegan dishes!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
