As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find great vegan food in the French Quarter. This is your place. I had the vegan po-boy, and it was outstanding. The service is a bit slow, but the food is just amazing. The place is tucked away in an alley, and you sit outside. Highly recommended.

I was really pleased to find this creative, tasty meal on a quieter side street in the French Quarter. It was an easy walk from my conference hotel, and I plan to return. I look forward to trying more of the appealing menu items. Friendly service, too.

We were a small group (1 vegetarian and 3 non-vegetarians) and all of us had an excellent meal. The menu is sufficiently varied to cater for all tastes. The cheese platter offered a number of wonderfully diverse cheeses. Shame that the wine was so expensive!

We always struggle being vegetarians on holiday in the US and NOLA was no exception! However the green goddess was a veggie gem. Fabulous salads and interesting tofu meant we could eat healthily in a meat and seafood city. Definite would recommend any veggies and carnivores visit.

I'm vegetarian and it was hard to find a lunch spot that had non-seafood and meat options. This place was a welcome relief. We had the burratta watermelon salad, which was amazing, the beet hummus also tasty mad mango salad. The portion sizes were great so a good value. To drink we had the bloody Maries, which were nice as... More

Everything about The Green Goddess is suprising: the location, the staff, but most of all the dishes. The way different ingredients are combined is really original. New Orleans flavoured without the clichés!

As a vegan traveler, it isn't always easy finding food, let alone GOOD food while on a trip. This place absolutely blew my mind as far as food in general. My BF and I ordered the Pecan Orange Mushroom Pate for an appetizer, and the Rolled Uttapam + Sticky Tofu for dinner. We also each had 2 glasses of Rose... More

My husband ordered the catfish special and it was amazing. I had a really good Freekeh salad...his lunch was just so good though. The outdoor seating is nice.

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant. The staff is friendly, the place is charming (outside dining) and food is SUPERB. Our entrees were better than expected. Worth trying: Beet hummus and both "mofongo" dishes.

As a vegetarian looking for a decent meal in a city that caters to seafood lovers I thought the Green Goddess would be a good option. While the staff was excellent the very limited seating and dining outside only is not ideal. Being in New Orleans in July is a sweaty humid experience so eating outside mid-day is not fun.... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
