Hole in the wall with fantastic food! All of it was reasonably priced with large portions. Muffuletta was fantastic. They give you half a sandwich, and it can easily be shared with two people. I also got the jambalaya which was great! Highly recommend this...local business for anyone wanting to try local New Orleans food.More

Had my first muffuletta here. I’m not an expert on muffulettas but I can tell you mine was amazing! I got it with onion rings which was good compliment to the muffuletta. It is a very filling sandwich and I’m looking forward to eating the...other half tomorrow. 😋More

Hole in the wall corner store at the intersection of Royal and Nicholls. It is hard to find and looks closed. However do not hesitate to walk in. There are 2 distinct sections in the store: grocery in the front and deli at the back....Very friendly staff. I came for the most popular sandwich - the All The Jazz sandwich - which is the sandwich that is the most sold in the store. The good: each sandwich is prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients. The cooks takes care of the preparation with almost religious precision. The only negative is that the operation is in the back of a really crowded store. It may turn someone off - but not me. The taste of the food always trumps the aesthetics - but be warned if you expect something different.More

Looks can be deceiving because this mart makes the best Po’ Boys ever ! We ordered the specialty sandwich “All That Jazz” and it was absolutely delicious - I almost inhaled it. Shrimp, ham and turkey grilled with two types of cheese, tomato and mushrooms...with lots of sauce… you cannot go wrong. The sandwiches are huge and very filling so if you are not a big eater, share one between two. The “All That Jazz” goes for just under $20. The staff are really nice and will answer any questions you have about the menu. Pro: go right to the back of the mart and look at the sandwich menu, there is a lot to order and it is great! Props to the chefs. Tip: order at the front counter - they send your order to the kitchen. Take away: definitely recommend! You will not regret it.More

Excellent muffuletta. My boyfriend had an Ernie’s po’boy. He really liked it but noted that it was a bit greasy. Fries were ok. Many restaurants close at eight. We were very happy that Verte Marti is open late.

Not what you are expecting when casually walking by; I assumed it was a convenience store, but it caught my attention, so I peeked in: tight space, kind of a hole in the wall, plenty of people lurking inside and out. There's a menu outside...to the right of the door; these folks are busy, so you may want to choose from there! Bit of a lengthy wait, but worth it. I got the Verti Catfish and I have no regrets! So glad I dropped in to support this friendly, hard-working team!More

Got a selection of 3 sides. All of them were overly salty to the point to be close to discusting. Spinach au gratin had more cheese than spinach. Everything that I ever bought there always been the same amount of salt.

I would say better for lunch. There is no seating. You just pick up your food to go. Very casual. Good food.
