What a great spot to sit & relax after a day of touring. Happy hour is 2-5 w/ half price glasses of wine & pizza. Start w/ the roasted cauliflower that comes w/ whipped feta. Yum! Then order a pizza.....save your feta to dip the crust into. Delicious and nice atmosphere. Andrea, our waitress, gave us that great tip.

I came in by myself and even though I was early for my reservation, they found a spot for me. The waiter was very nice and helpful on recommendations. The food I got was a roasts with mushrooms and rabbit. The pasta and rabbit were fantastic. I found out I didn't care for the mushrooms, but it wasn't because of... More

We LOVE John Besh and try to eat at one of his restaurants every time we visit New Orleans. Last night after the St. Joseph's Italian American parade we proceed to Domenica, We have a 45 min wait because we had no reservations, no problem. Our Waitress approached our table with LESS than a smile. We were seated at 10:15pm,... More

The location is great. The food is ehh....not so great. They served me luke warm tap water (the waitress even informed me that it was tap water) and their "pizza" was bad. I am thankful we were there during happy hour and only paid 1/2 price for it. The lasagne was good, but the overall experience was bad. Many other... More

We came here often for happy hour during our stay and enjoyed the food and the ambiance tremendously. The Saint Hotel had a terrible bar with rude waitstaff so this is where we came.

Who would ever recommend to get a whole head of cauliflower? They soak it a secret sauce and wood roast it and you must get one with your meal. I have eaten there a dozen times and can't think of anything on the menu that hasn't been great. It's a busy and full place. Reservations needed!

A foodie friend recommended, and it's run by noted chefs, so of course we decided to try it. Not horrible, but not at all good. We wondered if we were properly dressed--we had opted for office causal. No worries, plenty of jeans and t-shirts. It's a huge room, was nearly full and very buzzy when we arrived. You immediately wonder... More

This party of 4 needed their weekly dose of Italian food. We started off with the grilled cauliflower, with a cheese dip. Excellent! and only 2 or 4 WW points per the ladies at the next table. Two of us got the Rigatoni which was excellent and a hearty portion. The other 2 had other Italian dishes (I don't remember... More

Loved the kale and the size of the pizza -- it split between two perfectly. Loved wandering around the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel, looking for the restroom.

Domenica is a contemporary and inviting Italian restaurant that creates regional Italian dishes with southern and middle eastern influences. The cuisine combines Chef Alon Shaya's Israeli heritage and love of local ingredients with a menu that reflects his time spent cooking and living in the small towns of northern Italy.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
