Last night (09/29/16), I decided I had walk way too much for dinner every night, so I decided to go around my hotel, because I was leaving next day very early, so I ask at the front desk and they recommend Domenica. It is an Italian kinda restaurant. Service was very good, but the food was not out of this... More

Upscale restaurant that serves pizza too. Great atmosphere and service, We tried the Margherita Pizza with thin crust, delicious, along with Acqu Pazza and salad. Also tried a different drink called Smoke on Bayou. We came on a recommendation and weren"t disappointed.

We were looking for some great pizza to take back to the hotel and we found it here! Loved the thin crust and fresh taste. Would highly recommend to anyone!

DOMENICA in the Hotel Roosevelt on Baronne has become our pre-show dinner of choice when going to our SAENGER THEATRE subscription shows. Service outta sight, pizzas kwik and deelish. Right in the middle of it all half block from Canal St. Spend some time walking the Lobby of the Roosevelt, the Waldorf of the South.

Good service, not so much traditional food, not family style, portions were medium size, and the food seemed to be on the salty side. Our server was attentive and knowable, but the sales hype of the food did not match what was presented. We will probably not return. I gave them a 4 star rating due to location, staff, style,... Not sure what to expect. I was a lone diner staying in the Hotel Roosevelt. The experience was great. Waitstaff was attentive. The food was presented wonderfully. I had the cheese plate (I can't pronounce the name let alone spell it) was very good. A puff type bread/cracker was also served. It was light and flakey. I also had the... More

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel that was around the corner. We each had a pizza (I had a margherita pizza); mine was very tasty. Our server also recommended a very good wine. I would certainly return to this restaurant when I am in NOLA again.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember our waiter's name but he was beyond one of the best waiters we have ever had. Quick, helpful and customer service was on point. Came back for the pizza two times because it was so good. The Peroni beer is also delicious as well as their spicy olive oil! Going to make my own at home... More

We were staying at a nearby hotel and found this place for dinner. The day that we visited, I could tell that there were casual diners as well as groups celebrating special activities. Our server was very engaging and made some great suggestions for wine. I ordered the smoked pork pizza with Anaheim peppers and salsa verde. It was very... More

Came for a conference, and figured I'd wanna try seafood. Have to say, the places I went to I was not very impressed with. We went here because it was close to the hotel during lunch break, decided to try something else. Wound up here and the food was excellent. The Margherita pizza was great, as was the riggatoni which... More

Domenica is a contemporary and inviting Italian restaurant that creates regional Italian dishes with southern and middle eastern influences. The cuisine combines Chef Alon Shaya's Israeli heritage and love of local ingredients with a menu that reflects his time spent cooking and living in the small towns of northern Italy.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
