We enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast. We also liked the unlimited Mimosa's. the servers were very attentive.

My wife had the shrimp po boy. I took a bite and while the shrimp was tasty, the bread was dry. The fries were nicely seasoned but cold. I had the seafood gumbo, which came in a small bowl. It was warm and okay, though...I was surprised the okra in the gumbo was breaded. I ordered a side of okra as well. It was not freshly fried and was not warm. It also was not crispy. The restaurant was noisy inside, even though it was half empty and thrre is a high ceiling. I am giving Gumbo ya ya 3 stars but am unlikely to eat there again.More

Just what we were looking for in NOLA. We had gumbo at a big chain restaurant that did not compare in the slightest with the gumbo at Gumbo Ya Ya. Server was excellent. We got right in for a late lunch and had a seat...in the interior garden area. Really liked it.More

If you want a good breakfast, eat here. The food was well prepared and the portion sizes were large. The service was good. Try this place, you will be glad you did.

I was looking for good food fast but not fast food. Gumbo Ya-Ya provided. It seemed to be popular with groups of ladies for a social lunch setting. I enjoyed the shrimp poboy but there were several items on the menu I would like to...try next time I pass through.More

We visited for lunch. The menu was very accommodating. The gator bites were amazing. The ham / egg sandwich was outstanding

This place gets 1 star because our server Stephanie was pleasant. The restaurant is not worth waiting for considering you are in New Orleans and there are far better eateries around! Had I know about the Cresent City Brewhouse across the street I would have...went there. We were traveling with a picky child and we just came from the Aquarium and were looking for something to appease all of us. When we got there it was not busy there were many open tables so we thought this would be a quick in and out....WELL. from start to finish over an HOUR . The Service was so SLOOOOOWWWWW. All we ordered was 2 Po Boys "fully dressed" apparently that just means with mayo, pickles , lettuce and tomatoes. When we finally were served ( over 1/2 hour later and mind you we waited 20 minutes to be seated ) the po boys were very underwhelming I had 2 small pickles and 2 small tomato slices on each 1/2 and very little lettuce and mayo, My husbands sandwich did not have any lettuce tomato or pickles. We were starving at this point and did not dare mention this because of the slow service and the wait time. Better restaurants across the street!More

Gumbo Sampler was ok. They didn’t tell which bowl had what gumbo. Two were very bland, two were better but nothing special. We’ve had much better gumbo at other places.

Not a grat place for gumbo, a lot better in the area. Service very slow. Nice terrace and nice indoor. Food not great.

My husband very much enjoyed his southern fried fish poboy and fried alligator - however that’s about all. We had to go in and find the host as not outside on the patio - stood and waited after asking a server who disappeared, asked a...second server after 5 minutes told to go out on patio. Out on patio - still no host, go back inside and ask third server to retrieve host to seat us. Alligator and po boy were mediocre, coleslaw tasted like vinegar and the shrimp in the gumbo had not been deveined - queried with server and told she didn’t know what the kitchen does (no attempt to ask or replace) so sent it back to kitchen but still had to pay for it when the check came. Lazy kitchen prep leaving the poop sacks in the shrimp. Poor “service”.More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
