Nice little restaurant near the French Quarter. Enjoyed a big shrimp poboy! So good! Perfectly cooked and so tasty! Excellent service from Janeisha. Will definitely dine here again when in the area

We stopped here shortly before they closed. The place wasn't crowded, but the food was quite good and better than at some other (surprisingly more highly rated) restaurants we'd tried. Service was great and it was quiet compared to other places we'd been.

Great food, fantastic service. We sat on the patio. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop by this place. You won't be disappointed.

Thank goodness we ordered just a gumbo sample. So we paid $ 24 for three tiny pots of badly prepared rice with a spoonful of sause. Fastfood would be better.

My friends and I were excited to try this place but were very disappointed. Mostly, the service really stunk. We ordered 1 round of bottomless mimosas and 2 single mimosas. The waitress tried to charge us for all three. She argued with us that all...of us drank the bottomless (which was not true). It took over an hour to get our food. Our muffuletta sliders were cold and the rest of the food was ok. Overall not a great experience. I highly recommend going to The Gumbo Shop instead. Excellent food and service!More

Three of us ate lunch here. The food was awful, my sister's entree was brought out wrong twice. They sat us close to other tables when we requested to be away from other people and there were plenty of empty tables. Would never ever go...back.More

My wife had the shrimp po boy. I took a bite and while the shrimp was tasty, the bread was dry. The fries were nicely seasoned but cold. I had the seafood gumbo, which came in a small bowl. It was warm and okay, though...I was surprised the okra in the gumbo was breaded. I ordered a side of okra as well. It was not freshly fried and was not warm. It also was not crispy. The restaurant was noisy inside, even though it was half empty and thrre is a high ceiling. I am giving Gumbo ya ya 3 stars but am unlikely to eat there again.More

Just what we were looking for in NOLA. We had gumbo at a big chain restaurant that did not compare in the slightest with the gumbo at Gumbo Ya Ya. Server was excellent. We got right in for a late lunch and had a seat...in the interior garden area. Really liked it.More

If you want a good breakfast, eat here. The food was well prepared and the portion sizes were large. The service was good. Try this place, you will be glad you did.

I was looking for good food fast but not fast food. Gumbo Ya-Ya provided. It seemed to be popular with groups of ladies for a social lunch setting. I enjoyed the shrimp poboy but there were several items on the menu I would like to...try next time I pass through.More

We visited for lunch. The menu was very accommodating. The gator bites were amazing. The ham / egg sandwich was outstanding

This place gets 1 star because our server Stephanie was pleasant. The restaurant is not worth waiting for considering you are in New Orleans and there are far better eateries around! Had I know about the Cresent City Brewhouse across the street I would have...went there. We were traveling with a picky child and we just came from the Aquarium and were looking for something to appease all of us. When we got there it was not busy there were many open tables so we thought this would be a quick in and out....WELL. from start to finish over an HOUR . The Service was so SLOOOOOWWWWW. All we ordered was 2 Po Boys "fully dressed" apparently that just means with mayo, pickles , lettuce and tomatoes. When we finally were served ( over 1/2 hour later and mind you we waited 20 minutes to be seated ) the po boys were very underwhelming I had 2 small pickles and 2 small tomato slices on each 1/2 and very little lettuce and mayo, My husbands sandwich did not have any lettuce tomato or pickles. We were starving at this point and did not dare mention this because of the slow service and the wait time. Better restaurants across the street!More
