We stopped by Curio for a quick drink and a salad before meeting up with friends for the parade. It didn’t appear overly busy when we arrived, and we were seated right away. We ordered our drinks and a salad, and an order of alligator bites to go fairly quickly. The drinks arrived pretty quickly, but they seemed watered down (even the pop). A half hour later, we ordered a second drink which also arrived quickly, but very watered down. It took an hour and 15 mins for the salad to arrive and another 15 for the alligator bites. The salad was great. The fish on top was cooked perfectly. However, the alligator was overcooked and gummy. I’d be willing to try Curio again, but maybe for a lunch when I don’t have time constraints.

Our visit was 17 June 2021. Two of us dined and I had the Chicken Caprese. Since I am allergic to seafood & nuts, I had to make sure my food would not be cross-contaminated, and just had I remembered from being stationed in LA, they did not disappoint in cooking my food in a separate skillet. I had eaten some beignets so I did not want the veggie that came with my dish, I just wanted the sandwich. Oh, my goodness, I could have ran back to kiss the chief. Excellent job with my sandwich. Juicy, nice sauce, bread fresh and soft, not hard. I was happy. We ate upstairs on the balcony and there was a 3-man mini band playing excellent music slightly down the street. The staff were very nice, our server was great and the place was clean. I would definitely stop back again.

Enjoyed some delicious brunch entrees at this Royal St spot, the pulled pork Benedict was as good as it it could be, as was the jambalaya. Has some very interesting unique cocktails that did not disappoint, and enjoyed from a small table on their second story balcony at their corner location that was postcard view of the quarter. Love it when a first time visit is a winner.

My friend and I stopped in for a late breakfast on a weekday. No hostess to be found, so we walked in to seat ourselves. After 10 minutes or so and still no waiter, no hostess, I got up and got my own menus (the hostess was back at this point and didn't even seem to notice). Just for reference, they were NOT busy, there were only 3 other tables.
We ordered a miomoas each, the waiter asked if we wanted bottomless. We said no b/c we will probably only have one or two. He should have told us then that we would be paying more ($18 for 2)vs $12 for bottomless. To top it off (no pun intended), we ordered the 2nd mimosa, instead of bringing us a new glass, he topped off our old one, which happened to be 1/2 full! I was shocked when I got the bill and we had $36 in drink charges.
On to service, riduclously slow. After ordering our first drink, I bet we waited another 15 minutes. The bartender was right by us but never noticed that we were without drinks, he wasn't very busy either. The waiter moved around like a turtle. He brought us our eggs and biscuits without butter or jelly, our food was cold by the time we actually got some. There were some girls (assumingly management) hanging around at the end of the bar but they seemed to be deep in their own conversations to worry about the terrible service going on right in front of their eyes. We saw 2 ladies stand at the door waiting to be seated, once again, no hostess. They finally walked away.
Lastly, this is being picky but the mimosas were mostly oj.

We came here recently with a party of 6 and I found it very disappointing. Our biggest issue was service and the length of time to get the food. It was about 8:30 on a wed night and not during Mardi Gras, they didn't seem that busy. Our waitress kept disappearing, didn't refill waters or tell us when our food would come out. The chicken Ariana wasn't very good. The chicken portion was smaller and dried out. The sausage portion was small and very greasy. The spinach was so salty it was inedible and the mashed sweet potatoes were lumpy. The bowl of gumbo lacked what it was suppose to include. The fried po boy seemed fine. They had a few okay dishes but the lack of service and the wait really impacted the experience. The manager was there, you think she would have noticed. I see no reason to return. Their food Is not unusual or prepared especially well and they are fairly expensive so no reason to go.

This restaurant was a challenging experience. From the server to the food to the manager. Drinks were dropped on two of our lunch partners and the Manager seemed to not be overly concerned with it. Our food took one hour to be delivered and when it was, even though the plate was warm (you could tell it was sitting under the lamp far longer than the server paid attention to) and the food was cold. There was no turkey on our turkey sandwich and again, the manager was “mildly” concerned. You could tell she was “avoiding” our tables. Things happen and that is understood but it was the lack of how it was “handled” that was bothersome. Our server stood and spoke with her team members without any concern of our time. Our experience was not a good one but I hope others will be!

We went there las night for wine and food.
It was crowded. Waiters were very slow and it took them more than an hour to prepare our food.
Food was not great and service was bad.
It was a ones in a life time visit.
I won’t recommend it.

We were stoked when our energetic server at Ruby Slipper Café recommended we eat at Curio (301 Royal Street), where we just so happened to have a reservation the same evening. Tip #1: Request a table upstairs if any are available; the downstairs tables are sandwiched between the bar, the street, and the kitchen and can become both loud and congested. We ordered the “Crab Cakes Royal Street,” which are topped with a remoulade (slightly spicy) sauce and served with a salad of mixed greens and onion rings ($28) because we had had the “Taste of Café Maspero” the previous evening. Curio offers an almost identical menu item called “Taste of New Orleans” ($20/$25). Tip #2: In hindsight, I would opt for a sandwich and desert at Café Maspero and order Curio’s “Taste of New Orleans.” Curio also offers bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys ($18) until 4pm every day!

The food was absolutely delightful! I only wish I had a bigger appetite to have ate more.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the service. Our server took 15 minutes to even take a drinks order and when I asked if they had any sparkling wine he went to get a menu which took another 10 minutes. He finally brought our drinks 20 minutes later and took our order.
I have to give him and the restaurant praise because they were very accommodating when I could have a starter with sides for my main meal, which they were happy to do.
When he brought the bill to us, we said we were ready to pay and he wandered off and came back 20 minutes later to collect the bill and card. And then disappeared for another 20 minutes before we went in search of him. We asked another server if he was about to which the server looked shocked and went to find him.
He found our server and the our server just walked straight past us and handed another customer there card back first!
Honestly, it ruined the experience which is such a shame. Especially when the food was delicious and the other servers seemed to be really attentive.

0 if I could. Didn’t get chance to eat the highly recommended food as the waitress/hostess completely ignored our ‘good afternoon, table for 2 please’ and was possibly the rudest encounter entering any restaurant I’ve ever been to. She needs to be let go immediately, which in today’s climate is definitely saying something.
Do better. Sadly wouldn’t waste my time or money on ever returning. Actually in shock. Bad bad bad!

Fantastic experience from the moment we arrived, Ashley who was our server greeted us at the door, he pleasant a d friendly attitude started all on a high note. Her recommendation was spot on.
I had the Brussel sprouts to start (roasted and not too sweet) followed by the salmon which was ideally prepared. My co workers had the crab cakes and the other the chicken sandwich. Both were happy.
Ashley went the extra mile when one of the party had to step out for a call, she kept his soup warm in the kitchen until he walked back in and delivered. The above and beyond caring attitude was appreciated.
Enjoyable relaxing atmosphere, great food, exceptional service. A very enjoyable experience.

We decide to drop in for dinner on a whim. We are so glad we did. Everyone was super attentive and accommodating from the host to wait staff. Our waiter was awesome and at no time were we left waiting on service. The food was amazing, probable some of the best crab cake we have eaten...which says a lot because we are local to the area.

I came here for dinner and breakfast. For dinner I had the Jambalaya, which was great, but not as filling as I was hoping. For breakfast I had the three eggs, meat, and grits, which was very filling and delicious.
When I had arrived (solo) for breakfast I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or at a table and I selected the table. I was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I said I'd take the bar instead. There were 11 empty tables AND two people came after me, without reservations (I heard them being asked) and were sat right away. I did not like this.

Excellent all around. Pretty small place with a tasteful vibe. Server was so friendly & appropriately attentive. Food came out very quickly. Redfish, shrimp/grits, crawfish etouffé all yum. Given the amount of grits (which was great for one person), I probably should’ve added sausage too. We splurged with bread pudding & double chocolate brownie for dessert & they were amazing. After I had made the reservation I was getting nervous that we had chosen a place within French Quarter. Risk high price + low quality. Not this place. $120 for two ppl, including one cocktail each, two entrees, one dessert, 20% tip. Ended up being a great choice!

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
