I went to Curio because, truthfully, everywhere else was pretty packed for Sunday brunch and I was super-hungry. Fortunately, I found a spot at Curio’s bar. The place has a really chill, inviting vibe, with a slightly Parisian feel to the decor but in an...understated, unaffected way. The menu has some interesting options, but the last entry, chicken and waffle was the clear choice after a night of over-indulging on adult beverages. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The waffle makes or breaks this dish, theirs had a rich vanilla flavor to it that balanced the savoriness of the chicken. I was delighted to see they weren’t cheap with the butter either. It was so delicious that I contemplated seconds. The staff is friendly and attentive too. They mix up a nice bloody mary too. All said, no complaints and I would happily come back next time I am in town.More

We called in for lunch and an excellent lunch it was. All our food was well presented and extremely tasty. My wife is Gluten Free but her diet did not cause any problem whatsoever. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was...efficent and quick. One benefit was, that it was a bit away from Bourbon Street so it was more peaceful inside. Would certainly recommend.More

We have been in this restaurant before and always find it enjoyable for lunch. It's a bit off the beaten path so the balcony is quiet and you can actually have a conversation without screaming at each other. We shared the fried alligator and it...was good. Our server Sterling was friendly and efficient.More

We try to find a couple of new places to mix in with our traditional favorites when visiting New Orleans. Curio was a new place for us. Service was prompt and attentive. It was halloween so the staff was dressed in costume. Grandson was thums...up for the gumbo. (he fancy's himself to be a gumbo aficionado. The crab cakes were delicious as was the shrimp and grits. They forgot one order but brought it out just a little late and everything was ok. Good service, great food, on Royal Street. Not exorbitantly expensiveMore

Excellent all around. Pretty small place with a tasteful vibe. Server was so friendly & appropriately attentive. Food came out very quickly. Redfish, shrimp/grits, crawfish etouffé all yum. Given the amount of grits (which was great for one person), I probably should’ve added sausage too....We splurged with bread pudding & double chocolate brownie for dessert & they were amazing. After I had made the reservation I was getting nervous that we had chosen a place within French Quarter. Risk high price + low quality. Not this place. $120 for two ppl, including one cocktail each, two entrees, one dessert, 20% tip. Ended up being a great choice!More

Great food, terrible service. It seems half of the staff wasn't in a 'happy mood'. It took the waiter 45min to bring us some water, 30min for the cocktails and 1h15 for the food.More

We "found" Curio on our first night and had an early dinner. Since we were not drinking or on the street level maybe our experience was not the same as others except for the reviewer who mentioned the service. Ours was similar. I presume they...were upstairs too, which again may make a difference. The aligator po' boy was awful: few lettuce leaves on the side, meat was very, very, chewy and dry which may be its nature. We won't try it again to find out. My cubano was equally terrible. The bread was burned and the ingredients a mystery. All this on Royal Street! Sounds like it is better for breakfast than for lunch or dinner.More

While on vacation we rarely visit one place more than once. But we made an exception at Curio. The food was really good and the bartender (don't recall his name but he had red hair) made interesting and tasty cocktails. The atmosphere was great, not...the madness of Bourbon street but still fun and entertaining.More

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
