We were actually headed to eat at another restaurant when we passed the Columns and decided to eat there. My friend ordered a Grey goose and said it was good. I just had dinner. I started with a salad with hearts of palm and added their blue cheese. While not the best dressing, it was OK. Their soup was a... More

We had Sunday brunch. It was not worth $40.00. They apparently are extremely understaffed. The servers were rushing around attempting to keep up with things. No one asked if we wanted coffee or cold drinks. We did get the mimosas which are supposed to be unlimited. No one ever asked if we wanted refill I would have like that. The... More

While we enjoyed some great drinks the experience was dramatically impacted by the shabby facility. While there's shabby chic, ... this is just shabby and worn out. Upon entering one is struck by the wonderful old school look and smell of wood ... regrettably mixed with the smell of dirty. I walked a few steps to look out the window... More

We are staying at the Column's and feel lucky to have this Lounge right here downstairs. There is a good selection of bar menu selections. Salads are fresh and tasty and the crab cakes on a fried green tomato are killer! They start serving food at 3 PM however, so this is a gathering place for locals after then and... More

We chose this very simple restaurant just for a simple bite to eat and its outddor ambience. At the time it was a little busy due to Valentines Day, so the people watching was a bit of a bonus. Perfect for those wanting a drink and a meal while enjoying the outdoors at this architecturally preserved hotel.

We sat out on the porch. We had lunch and just watched people walk by. There was a guy playing the piano so that was a lot of fun. Recommend stopping here on your way into the garden district and uptown on the street car.

We decided to do Sunday Brunch at the Columns Hotel based on several recommendations and Tripadvisor. This is a beautiful facility which was once the residence of a German cigar magnate. The property is now listed on the National Historic Properties. The brunch was good, but not outstanding. Admittedly, we had choices to make starting with soup, followed by salad,... More

Our group had a very disappointing Reveillon - Christmas Eve dinner here. Oyster stew and turtle soup were both very good. The other food was only average. The salmon was on the dry side and the duck was just okay. Side dishes (potatoes mixed with eggplant, and dressing) were below average. Dessert - chocolate torte and crème brulet were average.... This is a beautiful room filled with gorgeous antiques. It is a graceful old property. The lounge serves BIG martinis and we listened to the amazing pianist Andrew Hall. This guy is stellar if you love true jazz and blues

We were a party of 12 and were seated on the porch. Absolutely beautiful to enjoy the street cars passing by as you savor in the delicious brunch items. Had several to select from. Everyone enjoyed our day for 5 years old to 65! Had something for everyone! Service was great too. We felt right at home!

Experience true southern charm at the original Grand Dame herself, the Columns Hotel. No trip to New Orleans is complete without sipping a Bloody Mary, Mint Julep or Sazerac on the fabulous columned porch of this historic Antebellum mansion. Be sure to take a peek inside, where you may recognize the elegant interior as the brothel from the movie, "Pretty Baby." Daily happy hour from 5-7pm.
