The best, most interesting and flavorful food I’ve had the pleasure to eat in a very long time. The menu is small yet powerful. This chef is worthy of serious international recognition.

Michael Gulotta is amazing and very creative - treat yourself to dinner at Maypop and you won't be sorry. His pastas, salads, desserts are all unique but so delicious. I have brought out of town clients here many times and it is always amazing

Very nice and friendly and young staff. Modern decor which is welcoming. The menu is limited to a few appetizers, noodles and entrees. The oyster appetizer is expensive at $15 for 6 small fried oysters. There just fried oysters with cheese on them and they...weren’t fried that great. The gumbo was hardy, unique and tasty. A nice surprise. The grilled gulf fish with pumpkin and beans was ok. Nothing that I’d get again. I didn’t expect tuna to be served when it was labeled “gulf fish”. You’d think if it was tuna they’d say “tuna”. I’ve had much better tuna every where else I’ve gotten it. The fresh pasta with shrimp was ok. Maybe a bit too much shrimp flavor on the pasta. The dessert menu was not interesting. It’s a nice place, but I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it. There are too many other places that deserve a try for the same money or less.More

One of NOLA’s top 10 restaurants in 2019. I visited Maypop for lunch with a co-worker. The Maypop is a restaurant is located in the CBD and offers contemporary Southern-Asian fusion cuisines from $10 to $35 (appetizers, entrees, lunch, and dinner). As you step into...the restaurant, you feel welcomed by plants suspended overhead and every table has views of downtown. The waitstaff is helpful, grounded, and approachable. The menu offers a lot of Asian cuisines and the flavors are big and complex such as Braised Lamb with Roti Bread or Wok Fried Egg Noodle with Jumbo Shrimp. The lamb has harissa spice and coconut milk. The noodles had turmeric curry. You have to try the Sazerac Du Roi signature cocktail. Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food, I’d visit Maypop again and you can go with your family, friends or whosoever you wish to.More

If you are adventurous with food, Maypop is the restaurant for you. A twist to Creole food with some Asian flavors. I tried rabbit for the first time and it was delicious and interesting.

Went for lunch and loved the place and the food. The service was excellent. I recommend having the bread service to start. Freshly baked with special jelly. We had the crawfish étouffe to share and the server split it for us without our asking. Then...we had drumfish in a curry. Use the bread to soak up the sauce. We will return for dinner.More

We arrived at 6pm for our reservation for dinner for four people. We had tickets at the theater across the street for a show starting at 8pm, and we informed our waiter of this. We thought we had allowed plenty of time for dinner. The...service was very, very slow. The entree portions were also very small. By 7:45pm we still did not have our desserts or our ticket and had to cancel our desserts and ask our server several times to please get our ticket taken care of quickly. There are a lot of great restaurants in New Orleans in the CBD, so I doubt we will return to Maypop.More

Excellent food and service. Loved the cocktails and the pasta dishes were out of this word. Loved the riff on beignets. Would go back again.

The food and service were wonderful. Very easy location to get to. Cool setting inside and can’t beat the Dim Sum.

Maypop does not disappoint. They use fresh ingredients in very fresh ways and create unforgettable dishes. It's a beautiful restaurant that serves not only delicious but beautiful dishes. An Asian/World cuisine unlike any other in town.

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts

I don't believe they have a dress code. We were there for lunch. There were business people there. Also casual people there. Dress clean and neat and you will be fine.

They dont have Beignets but they have a great bread basket made in house. Go to the Grabouts Market for great Beignets. Speak with Madame Alice who is the elected Queen of the house.
