I visited the Dragon based on a recommendation. It is located in the epicenter of old town square and all the tourist which made me suspicious. After a long waiting line I realised there was not much choice to order but meat (theres even not a menu in paper and the waitress /cashier pushes you to decide). You have to... More

The wife and I had two dozen and they were great. They also give extra bread to mop up all the yummy sauce. We had two locals suggest that we go there and they were spot on. Atmosphere is nothing special as it is in ground floor of Hilton. Staff awesome and attentive. Go for walk on river afterwards to... More

Over and over again I have been told to visit Drago's and must get the chargrilled oysters. Well I finally did. Eh.. not impressed. If it wasn't for the over whelming seasoning they would have been tasteless. However with that being said, the salads were large. The avocado was hard as a rock. The shrimp pasta was plentiful but nothing... More

I ordered the shrimp in Alfredo sauce and my husband had the charbroiled oysters. Both meals were tasty and warm! the oysters minus the bread are gluten free! Skip the salads, they are not worth getting. We ordered a small crabmeat salad it was plain romaine and crabmeat(dressing on the side) The atmosphere is a bit loud and crowded. Definitely... More

I enjoy a good oyster, but it's not necessarily something I'd specifically go out of my way to eat. Until Drago's. On a recent trip to New Orleans, I was told I -had to- visit Drago's for their famous chargrilled oysters. It was nearing the end of my trip, and I found myself across the street from Drago's. Why not... More

We went for lunch and had the Oysters and half stuffed lobster. Both were fabulous. A must when in NOLA.

My wife and I were there last Monday night. There wasn't that many people, but it took 20 minutes to get the hostess to seat us. The waitress did not know what monosodium glutamate was and was not very attentive to us at all. She never filled out waters and someone else served us the food. The short ribs were... More

Food & service was good, was extreme loud! Constantly pushing large carts of dishes and other kitchen wear by on a tile floor, hard to have a conversation.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
