We ate downstairs in the main dinning and upstairs on the balcony for dinner another night. The food was good and the drinks were strong. Great people watching on Bourbon St both upstairs and downstairs. The charbroiled oysters were divine. *They have a stunning private...event space upstairs that makes me want to throw a party.More

Awful experience walked in to try to get a balcony table - April the door woman was rude , repeatedly - what could have been amazing was dreadful because of her.

Went here for a late dinner. With the doors open, it can definitely get loud from the street performers. Drummers were right out front and made for a very loud dinner inside the restaurant. The food was decent. The raw oysters were plump and fresh...served on ice. The grilled oysters were not too bad, but they needed another minute or two on the heat. Chicken and andouille gumbo was tasty. Good texture, roux was dark and rich, and the rice was fluffy and soft to complement the dish. The Bourbon glazed chicken was good, and the shrimp po boy was average. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out. The service was friendly but slow for the number of guests in the restaurant at the time. Overall, it was good to try, but nothing would bring me back here. The convenience is nice if you are touring Bourbon Street and looking for something right along Bourbon. They do have upstairs patio seating available or downstairs inside.More

This is a charming little place in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Ordinarily, I imagine it would defend it's reviews quite nicely. However, this particular night was close to record breaking low temperatures and the place either didn't have, or wouldn't turn on, heating....Literally, we could see our breathes when we talked!!!!! The menu is very good and the food tasty. The server was sort of friendly but hardly attentive. After getting our bill and waiting over 15 minutes for her to return, I took it to the bar to pay it. As we were leaving we found her under a heat lamp outside!!!! There are so many other places in the area with the same kind of food that I doubt that we would return to this one.More

We are in NOLA for a week and Uber every night from Treme/Lafitte area to the French Quarter for dinner and bar hopping. We decided on trying Le Bayou one night, not disappointed. I ordered something I'd never had before, crawfish cakes. I'm a lover...of crab cakes, so why not try something new. They were delicious ! My wife had a pick 3 for $20 consisting of a cup each, jambalaya, red beans and rice and gumbo. Also all very delicious she said. The door man disappeared into a stairwell, next to our table that went upstairs, as did our server at one point. They each were gone only a few minutes at a time, but both came back down smelling like reefer, which was a usual smell on Bourbon St every night. To each their own. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. I do recommend.More

We were strolling down Bourbon Street looking for something a little less dive-y than all the daiquiri and pizza joints (not that there is anything wrong with that- just not what we were looking for) when we came across this restaurant. Honestly, we had been...eating seafood for a week and I was hoping for something a little different and the host/hawker at the door was like “give us a try- we do have some other options!” And I acquiesced. I am SO glad I did. In the end, still ordered seafood because the Napoleon Shrimp and Grits sounded unique and delicious and I was absolutely correct. Hands down, the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. The fried green tomato adds this extra texture and flavor that is so special. And the Cajun cream sauce? Insane. My husband had the chargrilled oysters, which we discovered on our trip to New Orleans is the best way to ever have oysters. I don’t normally like oysters at all- can’t make myself even eat them, but he insisted I try and I could not believe how good they were! Kind of like escargot but a much nicer texture. He also had the Taste of the Bayou sampler and chose to have all 4. He had something similar at Acme Oyster last night and liked it way better from here. It all tasted really fresh. The drinks were good, as well, though they were out of a couple of the things I wanted to try. We couldn’t do dessert because we were too full. It was a *little* more than we spent for other meals, but reasonable for the quality. I would absolutely eat here again if we return to New Orleans.More

Not really a fan. Chilly ac. Service was slow. We sat and sat waiting for our bill and it was empty. Sure there are other places to get muffelattas. Wasn’t the right bread. Served warm not chilled. Short cuts sort cuts!
