House-made, hand-made, ice creams in more wonderfully creative flavors than you can imagine. Where to begin? Don't worry -just keep going back. This is artisanal ice cream at its finest. But - sundae's, malts, and anything else are over-the-top extravagant as well. And............their Creole Cream Cheese is the best in the entire state. Go to dinner at Upperline, Crepe Nanou... The place has the feeling of an old-time soda fountain, but with so much more to choose from than chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. The dozens of flavor offerings change with what's seasonally available, but if you're a chocolate/vanilla/strawberry connoisseur, you won't find better variations than here. (Note: Bring cash. Credit cards not accepted.)

They come up with some creative recipes, and change them often to incorporate seasonal fruits etc. Best ice cream in the city...a must try.

The selection is great, so is the service... But you have to put up with the noise during certain days, because of typical UPTOWN kids (spoiled brats)...

you get a scoop for $3 of flavors you will not find any where else. Everything is hand made by one guy and the flavors are insane.

I've been here many times and have never had the same flavor twice. There's always something new to try and they never disappoint. Only down is they only take cash.

Old fashion type of shop, love everything about it. The best ice cream I have had in a while. It's great for a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon date. The staff was very professional.

The deliciously, unparalleled creativity of their flavor combinations is out of this world! Well worth the trip. I just wish they would accept credit cards (I'd come more often if they did).

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
