I guess it is just a matter of perspective. When I think of going out to a restaurant, OSS just doesn't make my list. Ordering a brat, a dog, or a sausage feels like a food-cart item, rather than a sit-down meal. However, If I'm going out for a beer and want someplace that also offers tasty food options, then... They provide lots of variations of hot dogs and brats. I had a bratwurst with mustard, relish, and tomato slices. I like the basics but they have many choices.

We found this gem on a badger football Saturday. They have a great outdoor area behind the restaurant. It is a quaint patio area. Drinks are well made and reasonable. They have TVs outdoors as well to watch other games as you ready yourself for the upcoming Badger game. The food that came out looked excellent. We only had drinks.... More

We've been to this place with our family a few times. They have a good selection of sausages and beer. Also nice people and a good atmosphere.

Stopped in for beer and a bite to eat after a Badger game. Good selection of brews but the food could have been better.

After enjoying a sampling of OSS's novel sausage offerings at Concerts on the Square last summer, we decided to try out their restaurant location. We learned that the sausages were even better right out of the kitchen! I had the rotating option, boar and gruyere with sautéed mushrooms and parsley, my companion had the doner kabob, and we shared a... More

The signs on the tables this time said OSS stood for "Ouisconsin Special Sausages" but the staff t-shirts said "Ohio State Sucks." Can't argue with either, and our group agreed that the food was pretty darn good: unique sausages with interesting toppings. One had a doner sausage and said it really did taste like the doner kabobs in Austria. I... More

Last two week stint in the lovely city of Madison. First stop had to be OSS. After 3 trips up this way, still 5he best cheese curds I've found.

This is a cool idea...just quality hot dogs and sausages with a wide variety of toppings, fries, curds, and beer. We stopped for lunch after my daughter's doctor appointment across the street. Staff was very friendly. We ordered the sloppy dog (basically a chili dog with fritos) curds and fries. The fries came out first and were amazing...I highly recommend... More

Wow. Just came from lunch there and, even after reading all the rave reviews, I was still surprised at how good it really was. I went with business colleagues and we sat outside behind the restaurant on a charming terrace. This space was very well thought-out and even though it's July, shady enough to keep us cool and comfortable. I... More
