This place has the most authentic yummy bibimbap!! I am so glad I stopped here while I was in Madison. The owner and waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. I got the Dolsot Bibimbap which came with miso soup and four small pickle dishes. The...kimchi was the perfect amount of spicy! I also had the iced green tea latte, which helped cool some of the spice. Highly recommend if you want authentic Korean.More

This place has potential. The location is near the main Capitol Square and I was really craving some good Korean food, unfortunately this place has some work for improvement. Walking inside, the decor is really confusing. If they took away their old holiday lights and...bulbs, I think it would create a better less over stimulating interior. The menu is simple, not many offerings so I decided on the Dolsot Bi Bim Bap & steamed Mandoo. The waitress was a young girl and very nice & was quick with my water but didn't ask if I wanted anything else for a beverage. The ban Chan was good, the Kim Cher was great. My Bi Bim Bap came out first and then the mango came out later. The rice bowl was good though the sunny side up egg was over cooked. The yolk was hard and didn't give me the golden gravy I so enjoy on a dish like this one. The mandoo is such a disappointment. It tasted from and mushy, and it had a very strong chicken bouillon flavor. At first I thought it was the shoyu - so I tasted the soy sauce & I could immediately taste that it was Kikkoman. I tried a second dumpling and discovered it was the mandoo filling. I told the waitress about and she told me the mandoo was frozen & not homemade & apologized for it but still left it on my tab. I know it's now her fault - but had I known it was frozen, I wouldn't have ordered it. I don't recommend this place to eat at. If the Mandoo was frozen, I can imagine what else isn't authentic. For the price they're charging, it really seems like they're taking too many shortcuts to their guests. Enjoy. :)More

I've been here on multiple occasions, both in a group or as a couple. The food is always flavorful and delicious so you can't go wrong with anything form the menu. Their seafood pancake is my favorite of the Korean restaurants in Madison. Their special..."big soups" come on a burner for the whole table. These can definitely feed 3-4 people so be wary of ordering anything else if you get one of these.More

I visited Sol's for the first time last night and had a great experience! As others have mentioned, service here is excellent, but the food really stands out. The banchan were predictably tasty (liked the kimchi and seaweed, loved the radish+chile+onion), and the bulgogi &...octopus soup for 2 was amazing—the broth a mouthwatering, balanced combo of spicy and sweet, and the other components blending in perfectly. Each of us ate three+ hearty bowls of soup w/ rice, left full, and took some leftovers. At $30, this is a steal (and it still would be for $5 more). I'm irritated at myself for not coming to Sol's sooner and will be back in a heartbeat.More

Olympics inspired us to try Korean food flavorful not too spicy fresh made to order but good service. Bibimbap was great tons of fresh veggies and marinated steak veggie potstickers good steak sweet sauce great 8/10

Hidden Gem! Loved the food! They are open during lunch hours and they have lunch specials which is a great bargain!

It was Saturday evening, and after a show, we were ready for bite to eat. After checking with a couple other neighborhood spots and finding 2 hour wait times, we stopped in Sol's. We were quickly greeted and asked if we could wait for a...table for our group of seven. The wait time was only about 15-20 minutes, we were given a spot at the bar to wait, with beverages, and considering how busy it was and the size of our group, it was great. The menu has a large variety of foods, some of which could be unfamiliar to the average mid-west diner. We tried a couple appetizers first and were really impressed with the Kimchi Pancake. It has great flavor and isn't as spicy as you might suspect. Our group had a variety of entrees and we sampled a little of each, but I was most impressed with the Korean BBQ Beef and Squid. (See the photos section). It does have a little heat, but I like that. Overall, great food and service. Next time we're in Madison, we'll make this a dining destination.More

I've dined here anytime (love Korean food!!!). It is authentic and the service is friendly. If you have a chance, go there for lunch. Best value anywhere with their "bento box style" lunch special. Lots of choices and you walk away full and satisfied.
