Worth the wait

Biggest problem? This place is too good! I have been to Lao Laan-Xang twice. First time we were able to call from our car and get on the list earlier than when we arrived. That helped. The second we only had to wait 20 mins. Not so bad for a late Saturday night. Both times the waitress comes to... read more

Pineapple peanut chicken curry. Wow. Madison keeper, for locals and visitors. Even with the one hundred character requirement, it is worth my time to get this review submitted.

We visited this gem of a restaurant on the suggestion of friends. Very glad we did. The spring rolls, both veg and meat, were a big hit. We also tried the 3 mushrooms, squash curry and Khua mee, which is similar to phad thai. All were quite tasty. Our server was very friendly though at times a bit slow, since... More

My husband and I tried this place on a whim. I was glad that we did. We ordered crab ragoons to start and they were wonderful. We then both got a different dish for dinner. We both loved our dishes. I would highly recommend if you like Thai or Laotian food. The service was good, the food was great, and... More

Very good lunch experience, once you enter the restaurant you are immediately greeted and seated. The overall atmosphere is relaxing and casual. The place was completely packed with locals on a Sunday. Before, you order your main dishes, please make sure that you account for the large portions. The Vietnamese spring rolls that we ordered were fresh and the overall... More

Went here with some co-workers who had been here before. The food was great and it was nice to get away from the crowds at Capitol Square for a night. I had the best crab rangoons I have ever tasted here, they were large and nice and crispy. All the dishes we got were very good. I got the honeyed... More

A very good friend came to town....being that our go to dining out was Thai Food.....we ventured to Lao based on the reviews. We were not disappointed ...this quaint place in a residential area was a hit. The food is fresh and you can decide on how much heat you would like on your entree. Highly recommend the rice paper... It is a quaint restaurant located in a residential area. While the place seems empty, it was hopping with customers picking up take-out orders. When my order of green papaya salad and fried chicken with steamed sticky rice arrived slightly delayed, the server offered a plate of cucumber salad - very crunchy and refreshing. The serving was generous to pack... More

The town where we live in NE WI has practically zero ethnic food, so we always look forward to trips to larger cities. Madison does not disappoint, in regards to restaurants. This was a small neighborhood restaurant with a cozy friendly vibe. The Mango Curry shrimp dish that my husband ordered was quite good. The appetizer assortment (although nearly 100%... More
