The food here is okay. It sounds more interesting than it actually is. I had the portobello sandwich, and I found it to be on the bland side, but my husband liked it. You order at the front and seat yourself.

Boyfriend and I came here to grab him some lunch. He got chicken quesadillas which were loaded w ingredients. Very hefty, w a side of guac and rice at about $10-11. Got two smoothies that were 8/10. Weird that there was no music at all playing in the background, and the servers were VERY soft spoken. It was definitely one... More

Cozy, down home feel with delicious food and good sized portions. Four of us ordered a variety of breakfasts and shared a taste, each was equally delicious! Loved the fresh flowers on the granite tables. Very happy to have chosen a local place with ambiance and a glimpse of the capital down the street over eating at a chain restaurant.

My family and I enjoyed a quaint breakfast at this restaurant. The staff was helpful with recommendations. We loved the coffee which comes from the shop across the street. All of our egg dishes were good and the roasted potatoes were out of this world! Would definitely return if I were on the UW campus again.

Note that you need to be able to climb a significant staircase to get to this restaurant. We went for breakfast. Roasted potatoes were excellent. My turkey and avacado omelet was bland, but my husband's steak and egg burrito (the special) was very good. Coffee bitter first two cups, but then a waitress came by with a "just brewed" pot--not... I asked the waitress to substitute cheddar cheese for mozzarella on my pizza, as I can't stand that kind; difficult to digest. She forgot. She was very busy after bringing it to our table, so I brought it to the hostess, and told her I had asked for cheddar, not mozzarella, and asked if she could do something about that.... More

I ended up eating here instead of my hotel because of the overpriced breakfasts at the hotel. This place is only about a block away. There was no waiting (I would get there when it opened at 7:00), the food was good, and the prices were reasonable. I especially liked the huevos rancheros. I would difinately rocomment.

Excellent menu and wonderful staff. On a busy mid-morning day, with many people lined up waiting, our party of 7 was seated pretty quickly. Tables were being turned over with ease and efficiency! Such a pleasure to see. Food was excellent-omelet's, pancakes, french toast were just what we expected. Left stuffed!

On a recent trip to the UW Madison Campus we were told that the Sunroom Café had very good food. We stopped by for a late lunch and really enjoyed this second floor restaurant. The selection of food was on the healthier side We had soup and a few sandwiches and were very happy with all of the choices. The... More

I ate here for breakfast again (in 2015). This was a mainstay during my years at Wisconsin in grad school in the early 1990s, and I eat here every time I'm in town (esp since 2011). Little has changed - and that's a good thing. The food is as fresh and good as ever, the staff is friendly and helpful... More
